Tech can't recruit due to academic restrictions.
Tech doesn't have enough money to hire a good well known coach and/or coordinators.
Tech gets new up and comer coach, who leaves after a few successful seasons.(lol we wish)
Tech hires another Chan Gailey, we go to bowls, lose to G5 teams in them. We pull off miracles against top ranked Clemson and Miami type teams every year or so, just enough to give us hope for a good season, but then lose to 3-5 Virginia the next week.
Tech hires dud who takes us to even lower depths and perpetuates the suck.
Obviously the best choice is to go after an up and coming young HC and hope they stay around for a while, but what realistically can we do if we were to make a good hire like that?
It would seem Tech is doomed to perpetual mediocrity unless there are big time donors who step in and/or drastic academic changes. Is there anything out there that shows we'll even try to do that in the near future?
I feel like after every loss and in every thread these same topics come up in each and everyone of them. When do we just stop firing coaches and actually doing something about the inherent restrictions on athletics if we're serious about competing with the schools on our schedule.
