1) Look at the stats, if it hasn’t been close all year, then it’s not close
2). If it’s not close by the 7th game, do something different.
3) When it’s really ugly, let your athletes be athletic and stop coaching the way you have been. You in their head man!
4) That means, play man to man and tell your backs to man up and cover somebody.
5) Tell your LBers to man up and cover somebody. Those not covering somebody…tell them to just go hit somebody hard. Anybody!
6). Totally drop all long term opinions of players. It’s probably changed, relook at everybody and make quick decisions by Tuesday.
7). Everything you’ve been doing does not work. Start over with really simply stuff!
8). Let the Senior LBer make the huddle calls when all else fails.

I think man to man has been as much of an issue as anything. Double moves hurt us and it allows the QB to run.
I think Ted Roof bend but don’t break and keep everything in front of us would be more effective. Keep it simple and allow defenders to hit hard.

It has been so bad though that it is hard to figure out what would work.

It pains my soul to know implementing a Roof defense would improve our performance.

Thing is with our man, we’re playing a soft press, not actually jamming the receiver at the line, which is the whole point of press. Then, our safeties are having their eyes in the backfield too much, which allows the QB to move them where he wants.

Same. I can understand a lot of issues but the way the defense gets boat-raced on a regular basis is one that I can not.

I don't see anything in here that would warrant a big cry unless the person who big cried it is sobbing in disbelief that we are where we are.

1. Let the AI control individual players, because keeping up in coverage is tricky.
2. Ignore rule #1 when blitzing. Too much fun not to control the blitzer.
3. When engaging rule #2, spam the swim move button.
4. Remember to cycle through all players and do the call to the stands for noise before each play.

5. Wait until the new NCAA game drops in 2023

Go to man. The guys don't know their assignments. I literally watched two of our defenders run AWAY from a receiver and leave him wide open for an easy reception.
