Antonio Simmons.

Was pleasantly surprised by his production. Stepped up and made some really big plays.

Our defense in obvious passing situations was solid. Secondary is going to put the hurt on some people this season.

Even the balls BC was able to drop in on us were only possible because the QB was sitting pretty in the pocket throwing darts. We were almost never more than a foot from the receiver.

Absolutely. He looked bad one time when he could not make a play in space. But, he was quick and energetic and penetrated the BC line. He was the bright spot on defense. I thought Gray had a good day. Poor 51 had a long afternoon. On their long TD a BC lineman drove him back a dozen yards.

Meanwhile, Kallon is the Sasquatch of the defense.

You said the key word: Energetic. He played with a hunger and desire that the other DLineman need

I liked what I saw from Simmons. I also liked Cerge-Henderson. Both guys managed to make a few plays.

We still struggled to generate a pass rush in 1v1 match ups on the line. Simmons was the only guy I noticed who got solo pressure a couple times.

His tipping the arm on rush was a HUGE play for int. Also KF needs to step his game. When you let a 255lb QB sidestep you, there is a problem.

on #51, not to mention the whiff on blitz on QB,geez

Speaking of Simmons, where was Lamont? I thought he was the starter - can't find him on the stat sheet anywhere - did he play?

BC is known for their solid offensive lines, FWIW. But agree that pass rush should have been better.

One thing to note that CPJ mentioned on the radio show - Mitchell should've had a sack early on, but slipped when Towles sidestepped. Probably gets him in drier conditions.
