Defensive problems

While I agree that the O was the main problem in the game, I'd say that it was only by a 60/40 ratio. This defensive performance was easily the worst all season.

How many outs and hitches did we see hit?

How many third and longs did they convert?

Was there ANY pressure on the QB?

If you didn't hear the stats on the radio, Wake had the ball for 38 minutes. We had it 22. They ran 97 plays. We ran 51. They converted 11-21 on 3rd. We had no sacks.

Anyone have any ideas?

Culb, I saw the final statistics today, and it was really bad, considering we were supposed to be the most talented team.

Another poster stated we should not be too hard on Tech, because Wake was a well coached team on the way up. The posted did not realize it, but his statement was true, we were outcoached by a better coach with a weaker team.

Have to say, as bad as the defense looked ... they were out there for 3/4 of the game and kept us in it till the end. Wake had been scoring up in the high 30's. Defense was exhausted but still gave the offense opportunity to win. Offense was 3 and out too many times. Can't really blame defense here - coaching didn't help at all.
