Deion on 60 Minutes

Yeah, no chance he is coming to GT unless he is just BS'ing about the HBCUs.

He said that he interviewed with three Power 5 schools in the offseason. So yeah, I'd say he is BSing if he's talking about staying there long term.

I believe it means a lot for him and that he won't be upset if he stays there, but he clearly would like the opportunity to jump up to the big time. As most people would.

I don't know how I hadn't heard about the blood clots and having a chunk of his leg removed. Says he has trouble getting around and even standing for the duration of practice? That's terrible. I don't think he would want to be a P5 coach because of all the extra time commitments, same reason he says he wouldn't want to coach in the NFL I suspect is because it's a full time job and he probably can spend a lot more time outside of Jackson MS than he would be able to spend away from campus for a P5 school.

That said, I do think that gives GT a leg up over a place like FSU in Tallahassee or even lots of SEC schools in nowhere places. But I'm just not sure he can have the P5 success that he is having with HBCU's.

His leg looked nasty. Never seen anything like that. He probably doesn’t have many walking years left.

He’s a competitor unlike what 99% of this board could understand so I think he does make the jump. And he obviously cares about money. One thing that GT could do to sweeten the pot is make a commitment to playing an hbcu school every year with a minimum payout of ~$500k.

Or we could hire Key if he finishes the season strong

We should be doing that anyway.

I'd bet good money that he is. Deion totally has a perma-salesman vibe about him, I don't buy for one second that he particularly cares about HBCU football. It's not exactly like P5 football is low on black kids he could mentor...he's THE poster child for a cocky superstar athlete. I don't really want him anymore with Key proving himself like he has, but I'll continue to remain a skeptic that Deion is wildly loyal to a college that he didn't even attend.

Wow aren’t you generous.
How about home & home split the gate and tv.
