Demjackets gives his opinion which might not have been as wise as some would have recommended. However, write Drad an email and see what he says. He has pretty blatantly said in numerous responses WTTE of we're going to evaluate everything at the end of the season. Our AD responds to anonymous folks like us without a word of support for our HC. He mocks openly the contract that he was stuck with. Listen to Wes asking him questions. They steer clear of anything having to do with Gailey so Drad doesn't have to say anything about him.

Demjackets has said nothing more and IMO less than what our AD has said. If this were an SEC school, the major news outlets would be pushing Drad on it and would be speculating that CG was gone. We just tend to fall under the radar and our beat writers are obviously intentionally steering clear of the controversy.

DRAD most certainly doe snot support CG. CG has to prove he belongs here and that means at least 8 wins and a win over Ugag. He probably also means some exciting football. DRAD needs to fill up the stadium next season with Tech Fund seat holders without a good home schedule. Unless there is genuine excitement about GT football after this season, he is going to make a change. He has basically said so in all of his responses via email to folks like you and me.

Demjackets is just giving you an insiders perspective which I would guess is identical to our AD. Where else can you get that on a message board?

The scary thing is I like Chan more than any other Tech fan I know (as a coach). I met a former player at a Dallas hotel recently and he seemed to genuinely hate the guy.

Email Drad and suggest a change as a case study and see how he responds. It's scary how transparent he is.

I for one get on here everyday and hope Dem has posted some new inside info on something. So Chan and DRad aside, thanks Dem and keep up the good work.
 
Demjackets is one of a select few on here that actually brings valuable information to the table....80% give or take 10% is mostly opinion....I think it's a bad idea when a FREE GT message board actually gets to the point that it drives FELLOW FANS away because some people go beyond casual debate.....IT GETS OUT OF HAND.... A SAD DAY FOLKS. When we can agree to disagree w/o asking for certain proof. What good does it bring to a message board when FANS OF THE SAME TEAM can't interact like adults..... I am disappointed to say the least...
 
I'm trying to figure out why posters who hardly ever post here keep trying to chase away our better posters. Stick to your own crappy boards if you don't like this one.

Untrue. Demjackets has said the program is stagnant and Chan should go if we want to reach a 'higher level' than we are now. That is most definitely not at all what DRad has said. DRad has said, repeatedly, "hold your horses and lets see how things pan out." If Demjackets was saying what DRad is saying, nobody'd be jumping on him.

If I were DRad, and found out about this mess, I'd fire Demjackets on the spot. If I were Demjackets, I'd insulate myself from being fired by making a new font to stick anything my boss might find "subversive" in. And yeah, calling for a coach's head from inside the coach's organization is subversive, every bit as much as calling for a CEO's head is. It gets people in the 'real world' fired all the time.

I'm not a censorship type of dude. But knowledge is power, and with power comes responsibility, and with responsibility comes risk. I like Demjackets, I like his posts, I like the knowledge he brings, and I don't want him driven from Stingtalk. I do want him to be careful what he says, for his own good as well as the overall good of the program.

The intarweb is all fun and games until someone reads it.
 
Excellent post beej. I don't buy the "he's not a real Tech supporter" hysteria about demjackets, but he does need to be very careful imo given his position. I haven't seen anything from him that isn't reasonable, but I wonder what DRad would think about it. (unless he's really DRad to start with? Yeah, that's it. He's testing the waters using an alter ego. Yeah!)

Same here. Some of you guys are treating the internet a little too seriously. You make fun of the Hive for thinking they can somehow positively affect GT athletics and then have the gall to think that one guy posting on Stingtalk can actually have a negative effect. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways.

Hope dem hasn't quit posting. If so, I'll miss his info. and insight.

What you fail to realize is it's the guys from the Hive who are coming over here and criticizing demjackets. Like I said earlier, they've already douched up there own board now they have to come over here and ruin ours.

If the things said in the past haven't run him off, I don't think any of the current comments will. I think he's gotten better about brushing off some of the idiots who post the insults.

Since I don't frequent the Hive, I'll take your word for that, but I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Speaking from experience with a different organization, I'd be willing to bet that dem is already extremely cautious with sharing (and censoring) both his facts and opinions. Without knowing him, I trust his judgment in those regards. In the end, it still comes down to performance in your job. If he isn't doing it and they need an excuse to run him, he's at the wrong place to be thinking anything he does on the computer is safe. On the other hand, if he's become indispensable, he could probably defile DRad himself and get a, 'Thank you, sir. May I have another?'
