I know he did limited drills yesterday but would expect more info by now. I suspect PJ has a good idea whether he will be starting or not.

As much as I want to know as well (Dems, feel free to pm :) ), there is probably some value to keeping everyone guessing as to whether or not he will be able to play...

I think that's Harvey Birdman, atty at law, not wolverine.

law_bee, why do you like wolverine?

a wolverine is the symbol of trial lawyers.

hard-nosed and fierce, but not necessarily smart, the wolverine attacks his prey relentlessly with vicious biting and clawing. the victim, if unable to run, finds himself quickly succumbing to the violent attacks

The Wolverine (as in from X Men) is quite obviously the incarnation of the animal. he would be an AWESOME trial lawyer, especially given his ability to regenerate when wounded!

i personally thought that LawBee was a fan of Wrestler #2

He is supposed to test it today and tomorrow and see how it goes. He seems to be walking better then I anticipated he would, I didn't see a noticeable limp today. I think it will be hard to keep him off the field for this game from talking to him.

that is funny. When I was looking for an avatar 7yrs ago for Stingtalk I saw the image and liked it. But I originally I thought it was space ghost NEVER READ COMICS AS A KID.

Also when I originally got the image it was on a background that obscured the horns. But since grabbing the image I have seen the X-men movies and I approve of the wolverine character, so I accept it as a suitable avatar.

Did anyone else notice Nesbitt come up limping at the end of the first half after two QB runs (dumb calls IMO)?

If we're going to run out the clock (fine with me in that situation), then take a knee. If we're not going to a knee, then run the toss sweep or counter dive.

I don't know if that was the same leg or if it had any affect on the later injury. Maybe? I know CPJ is mostly above reproach right now, but I really did not like those 2 play calls because it opened Josh up to hits he didn't need to take.

At the first of the week i thought Nesbitt had no chance to play this week. But as the week goes on my confidence is rising!

I agree except that if JN breaks off a 30 yd run (LIKE HE HAS DONE IN THE PAST) then we kick a fg, so I understand the call.

That's beside the point because Dwyer, Jones, Smith, Cox, Wright, etc have in the past, too.

True, but some times GSU would just do a few FB dives to kill the clock and now and then Adrian Peterson would take a play meant to kill the clock to the house and break it for 60 yards.

You didn't understand what I was saying, did you?

I'll give it a shot.

No I didn't notice him limping at the end of the first half. But I would feel pretty safe saying it had nothing to do with his injury. That was a fluke play where he got caught up in an OL's feet and rolled his ankle. Probably had nothing to do with a previous injury. A guy that size (no offense to RM or MoF2) falls on your ankle, it's going to hurt no matter what.

And I would veture to guess CPJ thought it was worth the shot that Josh would break one ala Peterson as has been mentioned, but didn't want to risk another turnover resulting in points right before the half. Just hold on to the ball and see if you can find a hole. If not, no big deal. Just make sure you don't lose it.

My two cents. :dunno:

That call worked well for us at the end of the 1st half against VT. The ensuing fumble cost us the game and possibly the Coastal Division...we will see.

If you are going to run out the clock...do not exchange the ball at all beyond center to QB.

Just a side question. I know RM, but who is MoF2? Sorry to have to plead ignorance, but, well... most of you know my mental status already.

As for JN, I saw him get up a play or three previous to the injury walking lightly on one foot. Wonder if it was a two part process.

You were saying why was the QB the one with the ball getting hit right? During the game follow the QB on handoffs, alot of times he gets laid out just because the D knows it can get a free shot. QB Injury is something that will happen, but I would not limit his decision making ability on run reads. I would not call a B-Back dive if I thought the QB could possibly make a better play by calling a triple option at the risk of him keeping. Also, I am not nor never have been a head coach so this is all just speculation on my part.

Although I have won like 20 National Championships with EA Sports and the Flexbone :laugher:

That fumble was a bit of a fluke not to mention that scenario was totally different to this situation because field position and remaining time were different. We could fumble on any play, even a QB keeper, so why not take a knee if that's your concern?

I have no problem with CPJ's decision to run some plays to see what might happen. However, in my opinion, snapping the ball and letting Josh run around in what did not look like organized plays to get crunched twice seems bizarre. He came up limping, and I don't see the need to subject him to unnecessary hits.

I used to be pretty decent at Techmo Bowl and could beat the AFC All Pro Team with the Oilers, but those two plays looked like the coach said snap it to Josh, don't give it up, run around and see what happens, stay in bounds. If CPJ wanted run plays I'm ok with that. If he wants to run clock and take a knee, ok with that too. Josh run around and take some hits, blech.
