I should have known better, but I got bored and started reading his debacle of an article.

Paul Johnson might have found a quarterback and the ACC might have found a favorite. Georgia Tech's 19-16 victory at Boston College was one of the more impressive of the day. Yellow Jackets Josh Nesbitt, while not the perfect
option quarterback (123 yards total offense), looks like he is going to be at least serviceable. Nesbitt was clutch
in the fourth quarter rallying Tech from a 16-10 deficit.
First, were we looking for a quarterback? Second, exactly how is Josh Nesbitt not the perfect type of QB to run the option? Idiot...

I think he might be saying he wasn't perfect for that game.

I don't think Nesbitt is the perfect option quarterback. He is a great athlete and proving to be an effective QB for us, but physically he isn't the perfect option QB. That isn't an insult and also doesn't mean Nesbitt isn't going to be very successful in this offense.

Hrmm, I'm going to go with, "He doesn't know when to pitch it yet, makes his decisions slowly, and fumbles the ball."

He's got a lot of potential, though.

typical Tech fan...takes a pretty harmless statement and castrates the guy for it

I guess I'm amazed that he still has a job, even though he's the worst football writer in the country that doesn't work for the AJC. It seems like he was thinking about some other team running some other offense with QB troubles and got that team confused with Tech, then wrote an article.

Help me beej, but how many times has Josh actually fumbled this year? I remember one problem on a snap against Jax State, and a pitch Saturday that was a little high but should have been caught. What am I forgeting?

Allen, you've got to know that columnists of any kind have one job and that is to spark a reaction. And they got it. You publicized his article and linked it for others to see and click on. This is exactly what his employers and the sponsors want. Your response is why he still has a job.

If you lay blame for the BC pitch on Josh (which is debatable) then Nesbitt is averaging 2 fumbles per game.

Quotes from the "Complete Post Game Book" available on RR:

3-G JSU 01 Nesbitt, J. rush for no gain to the JSU1, fumble by Nesbitt, J. recovered by GT Nesbitt,
J. at JSU1, Nesbitt, J. for 1 yard to the JSU0, TOUCHDOWN, clock 13:08.
1-10 GT 49 Nesbitt, J. rush for loss of 11 yards to the GT38, fumble by Nesbitt, J. recovered by GT
Dwyer, J. at GT38.
1-10 BC 31 Nesbitt, J. rush for loss of 7 yards to the BC38, fumble forced by Herzlich, M, fumble by
Nesbitt, J. recovered by BC Scafe, D at BC42.
3-4 GT 47 Jones, R. rush for loss of 3 yards to the GT44, fumble by Jones, R. recovered by BC
Ramella, J at GT43.
I'm not saying he shouldn't start. I think he's our best QB. But you cannot deny he fumbles more than he should, currently, which is most definitely one way in which he's NOT the "perfect QB to run the option," as Allen stated. Yet.

Allen asked, "how is Josh Nesbitt not the perfect type of QB to run the option?" I answered. As of today, I would rather have Navy's QB than Nesbitt running our offense. By the end of the year that'll probably change.

Until our Oline comes together, having anyone other than Josh run this offense would be a disaster. He can rip off 40 yard runs even when our line blows an block.

I think some of Josh's fumbles are the result of pressure coming way sooner than it should.

Not saying he's perfect, but one was on a center exchange so neither of us knows who was at fault. The pitch was high, but should have been caught so I'd give that one to Jones, as the official scorer did. One per game is still a lot, but he's not fumbling the exchange with Dwyer and overall his pitches have been on target.
