Brad Jefferson is starting again at MLB and Shane Bowen is stepping in Sedric Griffin's place as a starting OLB.
The other starting OLB is listed as AT Barnes, backed up by Tony Clark.

Mario Butler starts at one CB slot with Jahi Word-Daniels or Rashaad Reid at the other spot.

Reese, Griffin, and Gardner are all listed as out.

I counted up last week's depth chart starters today and Ga Tech has more Georgia players (16) than UGa (13). I think this information needs to be spread to the high schools. Univ. of Georgia has abandoned local kids for outsiders like Moreno, Stafford, and Green so they could go for the national championship. They failed. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech is taking the Georgia kids like Dwyer, Nesbitt, Thomas, Burnett, Calvin Johnson, etc and are having new success with Paul Johnson. This needs to be spread through grass roots.

Griffin....RUB SOME DIRT ON IT!!

You ain't hurt! You ain't hurt!

BOOM! M-FER' YEAH!!!!

Kirbee--that's really interesting, and I doubt many people would know that. I wonder if we do use that in recruiting, it seems like something we could feed off of.

Actually, when CPJ was in Macon at the Touchdown Club, he commented for a good while on that very thing. How "the state school's" blue-chippers were all from out of state. How we were the real state school as our players are from here. Resonated a chord with many in the audience. hell, even Bill Shanks, that leghumper himself, said how great CPJ was.

Georgia had better be very careful, or their in-state pipeline will shut down. Paul Johnson has great ties to the high schools, and we rattle off a few over the Great Satan...

Without a doubt, landing kids from a variety of areas in Georgia like Dwyer/RJones(suburbs), Claytor (north Georgia), Burnett (city of Atlanta....huge btw), Nesbitt/Jefferson/DThomas (rural Georgia).......all of this was the catalyst to keep this going for the class of 2008, 2009, and moving forward. We are in a great spot right now.
