7 of the 11 starters on offense are freshmen or sophomores, including all skill positions. (Only 1 OL starter was a full-time starter last season).

7 of the 11 starters on defense are freshmen or sophomores.

2009 is looking good.
2010 is looking very good.

IF and only IF we recruit more top quality Dlineman...In particular Defensive Tackle...We got one this year in Barnes and only have one coming in so far for next year Lanier...We could possibly be starting 2 freshman next year at DT. With no depth next year at DT ..

Lets not forget Logan Walls...a top recruit 2 years ago that is coming off a broken leg. You could see him starting with TJ Barnes next year with Anderson getting some PT. I would also not be shocked to see Jason Peters see some time inside.

Depth is an issue next year there...and we really have to hope that JC Lanier can report in shape and ready to play. We are also going to find one more DL...and we have not given up on Drew. The line may be the most difficult position to play as a true freshman because your strength and stamina is just not there.

Our future looks bright assuming this year isn't a catastrophe. If all of our guys come out and have no clue what's going on at all? You can't say that they're going to be special in two years.

By the same token if we have a 7 or 8 win season this year, I don't think there's any way that we'll have to wait until 2010.

But I feel like we could do some damage since our linemen on both sides are upperclassmen with experience.

The challenge for our OL is that they were recruited for a completely different protection package...and the future requires smaller, faster lineman that love to initiate contact. Pass protection in almost any other package except ours is soft.
