Congratulations, Derrick!

I was very excited when DM committed to us, and ecstatic he is already in school.

He's a fine young man as well as a talented football player, and I expect him to continue in the tradition of Darryl Richard, Calvin Johnson, and others.
 
Is Morgan or Peters anticipated to put on weight and move into DT roles? Do we tell these kinds of recruits that we're recruiting them as DE's but we'll see how their weight gain goes?

I think this post shows us how long its been since we've recruited some true defensive ends. We've been pumping up linebackers and pretending we're FSU.

I think they are both defensive ends, although then MIGHT slide inside for some sets some day. One of them might convert to dt, but that depends on his ability to control his weight rather than the coaches moving him out of desire or need.
 
More than that I think it shows us the lack of size we have in the interior of our D-Line. Morgan is already bigger than all of our DTs except Richard. Peters is right up there with Anyaibe, Walker, and Anderson size-wise.
 
It doesn't say that on the roster and given how notorious we seem to be as far as overinflating weights, I'd tend to doubt that.

His dad posts on Rivals and said Ben just hit the 280 mark about 10 days ago.
 
He and Bray have been working as hard as any on the team. Bray is now at 245.

No need to talk to mom. I've been told this by more than one person.
 
Most teams only update rosters once or twice a year Knox. Wait until after spring practice or before next season.
 
Bottom line, Knox, never believe those heights and weights listed on the roster. These are growing kids!
