Did anyone think Maryland had a bad attitude?

I know that they beat us like and drum and I wish that we had some of their emotion, but they seemed real cocky to me. They reminded me a lot of the Miami and FSU teams of old. There seemed to be a lot of trash-talking going on on the field. Sure, they beat us like a drum and deserve to celebrate, but I would have expected less of that from Ralph's team.

Maybe when you lose by 24 you see more of that. Just curious what others thought.

Maybe they just tackle better than we do and have more to celebrate. When was the last time we saw a good, hard tackle for a loss? I know Muyres tackles hard but unfortunately most of his tackles come after long gains.

Man, I am just depressed. Wife had to remind me last night that all is not lost and she even suggested I begin to watch her college team (Duke) to get an appreciation for truly bad football. Then, an awful thought occurred to me, Duke might beat us if we play like we did yesterday. I got more depressed after that.

I agree with a lot of that. However, I think they backed up any questionable "attitudes" with some vicious hitting. They were , IMO, the most physical defense we've faced thus far and did not get cheated with their hits. Very impressed with what they've done.

2 Big Techsticles,

I never have understood the notion that it's OK to have a bad attitude and be a jerk as long as you can "back it up." Being good at any endeavor is not a license for bad manners. Being able to "back it up" does not erase the fact that the person is an a$$ - it merely means that he is an a$$ with ability - but still an a$$.

And - yes - I was disappointed in the showboating by the Maryland players. I would have thought Ralph would put a stop to that. JMHO.

The UM students "you suck" cheer....showed lots of class.Lots of class............

Remember we have a "piss on 'em" chant in the student section. I didn't think they had attitudes, they beat the snot out of us and were fired up and in the game unlike the Yellow Jackets. I do not think they rubbed it in or acted unsportsmanlike. They just took us behind the woodshed. They played with emotion.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">We did some good tackling, for nogains and maybe a short loss or 2, in the first half last night. That's why I was really startled when we could NOT stop the run in the second half. That opened the air game for them and that was it.

After the past two losses, the first of which was a "gift" and the last of which was a humiliation and RUTS, I want some real payback soon vs Fridge and his disciples. Take no prisoners. No mercy.

And the student body was soooo cute, too:

"HEY!! YOU SUCK!!!

WE'RE GONNA BEAT THE HELL OUTTA YOU!!!

AND YOU!! AND YOU!! AND YOU!! AND YOU!!"

Just keep it in mind 'til next year.
