it seemed to me that after the 1st two series CPJ refused to mix it up.

We had some great success w/ the counter option but we only ran it a couple of times?

I just got the feeling that CPJ may have been TOO CONFIDENT the straight option would break through and b/c of that he was hesitant to make adjustments.

also the counter option takes the ability for JN to hand it off which can be a GOOD THING at times

When it was 14-3 I thought we were going to blow them out.

Scoring runs of alot-a little given up two games in a row after being up early. That's the only thing I am concerned with.

The first drive wasn't "mixing it up" either. We ran the sweep, the sweep, the sweep, the veer in short yardage, the sweep, the sweep, and the veer again to get the TD.

Second drive we faked the sweep and threw a TD on play action.

Third drive and on, they adjusted to stop the sweep, so we tried other stuff, all of which failed. Might have been nice to fake it and throw deep again, but meh.

I'm guessing our Fuhrer may have had a tummy ache. Maybe Tennessee threw a lot of money at him right before the game. No excuse.

No adjustments? Okay.

HEAD IN ASS. RESULTS.

Way to go, Coach!

I don't really consider two touchdowns a big lead.

I don't recall us having much bigger a lead in any game in the 7 years previous .. maybe against Syracuse or Tulsa.

I heard PJ say, on the post game reaido show with Wes, that after we scored twice they adjusted their defense by taking away the outside and giving us the middle.

Yup. He said they gave us 3 on 3 matchups inside for the rest of the game, but we couldn't block them.

We did move the ball on several drives after the first 2 but our TOs and other problems stopped us. You also must have missed the long throw to Earls that was underthrown.

Did CPJ call a bad game?

Hell yes he did!!!! Furthermore, he is making the same classic mistake that Gailey made acting as his own coordinator. I put this loss clearly on the shoulders of the man really behind this loss, ContactBuzz.

Word is that CPJ emboldened by ContactBuzz's post (quoted and linked below) began to meddle in the SWAGGER playcalling.

No need for a coordinator...CPJ calls his own SWAGGER.

I hear that after the second TD that gave us a 14-3 lead that SWAGGER COORDINATOR Ric Flair called for Dwyer to grab the UVA flag, mount it, and ride it around the endzone like a pony, but CPJ wouldn't clear it and began interfering with SWAGGER playcalling for the rest of game. CPJ needs to learn how to delegate.

We need to stop focusing on redzone turnovers, offensive line blocking, and comparison of QB A to QB B and get back to the fundamentals just like every other penenial Top 10 team after a disappointing (and they are all disappointing losses). What does that mean? WE NEED TO GET OUR SWAGGER BACK!!!!!!!!
