Did I just count 16 locked threads on the Hive?

That is in addition to deleting all of the Game Day Threads. RR and his merry band of mods may have pissed me off for the last time with this batch of stuntery.
 
I guarantee you its not RR, its probably Crackerjacket, who thinks its his sole duty in life to protect all things GT on a message board. You couldn't sneeze over there without him wondering whether or not it may have been an insult about an ex-coach.
 
It's their way or the highway. The p**** admins have a serious inferiority complex.
 
It is their board to control with absolute authority. They could do what they want and we can come over to stingtalk instead. I know I could probably count on a single hand the number of times I've visited the Hive the past year.

Still, those times I visited after a loss had a weird Kim Jong-Il vibe over there. It becomes hard to find any substantial analysis of the team's failings with all the nukings of negative thread. Maybe it would be more appropriate if they played Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" in the background.

Good way to describe it.

There are a couple of threads over there now about locked threads. I still post over there occassionally though.
 
I am all for trying to limit truly redundant topics ... but they take it way too far IMHO. OTOH, they lock threads that get too long. They have said they like to lock ones that exceed 80 replies. See the conflict? By locking any threads that are remotely redundant, they encourage large threads. But, as stated before, they don't like large threads. My head hurts ... and I am not even drinking.

Anyway, it is their board and they can do with it what they want. So I just roll with the changes.

Yup. It wasn't a week after CJ was granted mod authority that I was already complaining to RR about CJ. I finally decided to set up shop over here.

I wasn't banned I just reached the "who needs this" point long before it came to that.
 
Well, to their defense, their forum is located on a recruiting website and recruits probably read the hive a lot more than stingtalk so they do need a certain level of control. They just go far beyond what is reasonable, however.

I believe CJ came on here not long ago and stated he was no longer a mod.
 
Quit complaining. The nature of the other two Tech boards is why Stingtalk gets traffic.
 
I'm glad people are finally starting to leave The Hive. I got fed up with Scout years ago when they bought out ACC Boards and systematically dismantled and destroyed the entire community there. At the time it was the primary board for over half the conference. I started my own site to replace ACC Boards because of it.

I will warn you guys of this much: the more successful you become, the more troublesome Scout staffers will be. My site is now the main board for several conferences and teams, and I've probably banned a combined 50 Scout and Rivals staffers who come over just to stir up crap and push their premium services. Expect even legal threats if somebody mentions news they have in their premium sections -- because, ya know, it's totally impossible they got their news from an insider like it use to be on the Hive years back.

Here's to putting Scout out of business -- long live the indie boards!
 
wow - I just had a thread locked where I said that the new coaching regime would bring back our mental/physical toughness that the Chan era seemed to eliminate... The toughness that we had under GOL.

They lock threads if they think the subject is already being covered in another one. Can be aggravating because you can't always find the topic being discussed as threads veer all over the place from the original title, but that's their reasoning.

But as I've said countless times before, you won't find any topics here or subject matter that isn't over there as well. If you don't like it don't go there. Same as buzzoff.
