O'brien is a solid coach but not going to blow the doors off.

The Miami hire is the most surprising. I am shocked that anyone on the current staff was given serious consideration.

Only time will tell but I think it worked out pretty good for us.

I seriously believe we dodged a major bullet with the Miami hire, there is no telling what Mike Leach's offense would’ve done with the best recruits of one of the best (if not the best) recruiting area in the country. I was having nightmares of "da U" hanging 50+ on most ACC teams, including ours.

We still have to dodge the Tenutta to Texas/Bama/Cincinatti/every other program in need of a HC (only for minor programs) or DC bullet.

Ya. Mike Leach would have killed the ACC this year with his offense. But I dont know how long it would have lasted. They needed a disciplinarian, and from all account, Randy Shannon is one (and a damn fine defensive coach, if I might add).

Leach's offense has a history of folding against big time defenses though so I don't know what his results might have been.
