Did we have money all along?

I’ve been thinking recently. Did we actually have the money to make the moves and Stan was just too weak to make the move? It seems like Batt just came in guns blazing. Granted I understand we had a ton of funding from Angel, but Batt is actually making the moves that we’ve called for all along.

The money was there to can CGC. Several super boosters said as much publicly. TS chose differently and it cost him his job and the rest of us a lot of embarrassment while our rival was grabbing trophies. This was the lowest point in GT football…including the early 80s and BL.

But things are changing for the better and the sun will rise again on the flats. It will be an interesting couple of years.

Someone claiming to be a member of the athletic board said on FB after the 2021 season that the money was there, but the board chickened out and gave TStan what he wanted. But this person also said, that TStan had put his job on the line when they gave in to him. Who that person was or whether he was on the board or not, I have no idea, but it sure played out the way he said.

Stansbury had the money.

Kind of also depends on what you mean by "we."

If you are using "we" in the way most people use it - then if its something good, its "we" but if its something not so good then its "they."

Are you talking about coaching moves or something else CNJ?

My understanding is that we had the money to fire Collins in 2021, but we probably didn't have the money to hire a staff afterwards.

Collins got more than $3 million a year in salary, for three full years, then whatever he had coming through his termination (if it's calendar year, then that would be a little less than 3/4 of the year), so all told probably north of $12 million in salary.
With an $11 million golden parachute.
For 10 wins.
So about $2.3 million a win, give or take?

Years ago humorist Lewis Grizzard appeared on the Johnny Carson show. The next day somebody called his friend, step brother and fellow humorist Ludlow Porch on his radio show and asked him what he thought of Lewis’ appearance. Ludlow said well it was alright except he looked like white trash sitting up there with no socks on.

So … what are some of the positions held or businesses owned by our big donors?
