Who am I? I finished second in the ACC in completion percentage at 61.8% I only had 11 starts coming into this season despite being a senior. Despite our team's offensive youth, I was able to finish 3rd in the conference at 179 yards passing per game. I finished 3rd in Total Offense, four spots ahead of the Jacket's QB. http://umterps.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/hollenbach_sam00.html
Who am I? Prior to September, I'd never taken a snap at the collegiate level before. Yet, as a freshman, I just won the completion percentage at 66%. I actually entered this year's camaign as the #2 guy on our roster but an injury during pre-season elevated my status to starter. In the coming months, I'll have a real nice ring to show you. For what it's worth, I threw 10 less interceptions (4) than the Jacket's QB (14). http://wakeforestsports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/skinner_riley00.html
Who am I? I actually played in four games last year but my team turned the reigns over to me this season. We finished as strong as anyone in the conference and despite two costly stumbles early in the year, we throttled this year's conference champions. I completed 57% of my passes, which isn't bad for a sophomore. In fact, that's 13 percentage points better than the Jacket's QB. When the pre-season mags come out in the summer, look for my team to be favored in the Coastal as a result of my coach having faith in my abilities. http://www.hokiesports.com/football/players/2006/glennon.html
Who am I? I'm a senior. I had to wait my turn with very limited experience. I started all 12 games for us this year. The Jacket's QB had 40 more pass attempts than me yet I completed 25 more passes than him. My #1 and #2 receivers were hurt most of the year. God only knows what my numbers would've been with our offensive philosophy had we had Calvin Johnson! http://clemsontigers.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/proctor_will00.html
Who am I? I'm just a freshman. My team looked awful early on but as the season progressed, there was no disputing my confidence and abilities. My receivers and offensive line was very inexperienced, but we managed to gel as a team and things are looking up. Despite me being considered an 'athlete' at QB, I still completed 58% of my passes. Hey, that's 14% points higher than the GT QB! http://virginiasports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/sewell_jameel01.html
All of the above examples have had great moments in their careers. Some are young, some are old. But EVERY ONE of them put up more productive numbers than our fearless leader. EVERY ONE of them had coaching staffs who either coached them up, or knew how to effectively gameplan to maximize their talents. Not all of them had our defense, but I have no doubts that ANY of them would've equalled at LEAST two more wins this season, possibly more.
