I really like this look! Sorry to the folks that are super heavy on tradition. But, we can always have the white tops gold pants away... I think I had posted somewhere in the uniform color thread about a hat that I have that is the same blue. Going to find, cut and paste what I'm talking about.

I would really like to see them play in a shiny dark dark blue jersey. The only problem would be the heat of the sun on a dark blue shirt. I guess we'd just have to bust them out late in the year.
I've got a hat where the GT emblem looks like a dark blue but if the sun hits it right it has a sheen to it that is much lighter. If we could have a jersey like that I'd be very impressed.

---If you look at the shoulder pads it does exactly what I'm talking about. Real dark look on top but where the light hits/reflects its a royal blue. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/greenclap.gif
What do they say? You only get 1 chance to make a first impression. Hopefully, some of these new recruits like what they see. IMO--appearance goes a LONG way.

Not that I am for the Blue home shirts, but if we ever did I hope it would be with White pants.

The "heat" factor that a lot of folks talk about is nonsense (I don't mean you personally). The dark home shirt does not seem to bother Auburn, ugag, Bama, UF, Texas, or GT in 90.

As Atl-panther has alluded to, I just assumed that these are practice jersey's.

Where I'm a proponent of the 'traditional' white jersey/gold pants look at home, if blue were to be the color then I like Houser's idea of a dark blue shiny jersey.

odd thought...

Sorry, this quote just reminds me of a BAMA conversation about how "DA BAHR" did this or that. (Not a perjorative towards you.)

I agree that the heat factor is mostly mental. I just want Tech to be Tech. We've worn Mustard, White, and Blue at home. The most successful period was with White at Home--50's and late 90's. Mustard is different from about anything else in the country.

I just think of 1-10 in the Blue jerseys...perhaps it's my age.

A nugget: the most memorable game from 1990 is Away at UVA in White Shirts and Old Gold Britches..

Re: odd thought...

The uniform color you mention is where I got my handle--mustard.

Re: odd thought...

Another issue of wearing blue jerseys would be that people wouldn't wear the "game day gold" and we'd be all mixed up in that regard again. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I think that may be one of the initiatives that should be pushed.

Well, I think Tech people...

I think GT people will wear "Game Day Gold" when it's not CHEDDAR....that stuff was Tennessee orange.

However the Gold shirts had done a good job of getting Tech fans to wear either White/Gold in the stands.

If you can find a picture of AU@GT, GT@AU, CU@GT, you can finally see a line of demarcation for the Tech season ticket holders.

When I started school it was a mob of blue, black, gray, RED, yellow in the Stands.
I think we're catching on..but Lord no CHEDDAR...

Yeah, I remember that push when it was cheddar. I think I threw that shirt out because I would never wear it besides a game day.

Re: Well, I think Tech people...

Any color we win in is just fine with me. I just don't want UGAg to be able to wear the reds in our stadium, so no white jersey when we have them at home.

I think we should do some old jersey stuff on homecoming.
