Demjackets..Let me ask you a question..

I hope you don't mind answering. Is Jimbo right up there on Dan's list..I suspect he is, and in talking to quite a few Fsu alumni, they are fearing this. They feel he could be another Richt here at GT. They also feel he will raise the bar as to recruiting here in Atlanta and possibly bring a top rated recruit (A current Fsu commit) with him, if hired.

Can you give us a clue?
 
Jimbo is a top candidate, I don't think we are #1 on Jimbo's lists, he is waiting on a few jobs, Dan wont wait for him.
 
Yeah, I hope the rumor is true that the powers to be

at Lsu are not on best of terms with Jimbo after he left for Fsu. IF, we could overcome the Lsu hire, maybe it will be us and Arkansas going head to head and maybe we can win that battle. I wouldn't believe Ole Miss would be more attractive than GT..Maybe Arkansas could pay him more....

that Paul Johnson is a top 2 candidate) Please tell us that Paul Johnson is not right up there...Fred Kalil just said he was up there...

I just don't see us playing serious defense if Johnson is hired.
 
Paul Johnson is probably one of the "diversions." I'm guessing Hatcher is another?

I'm hoping the two real candidates are Chris Peterson (longshot) and maybe Muschamp? Or his he too obvious? Maybe that Southern Miss guy who went to Roswell.. Jeff Bower? AHH the wait is agonizing...

I believe what he's saying is that no one is talking about the "two real candidates" because of diversion towards non-candidates.

I think the real candidates have been mentioned unless we are going blockbuster with some heavy duty alumni contribution like Spurrier. There are enough names floating around that the few which I think is more like 4 than 2 are covered. We have some good choices unlike what many said would happen when we sent Chan packing.

It has been said by both Clough and Rad that we need someone who can market our program. I know some people will not like this but realize Paul Hewitt is the model for what Rad described today. The eliminates alot of people. That means they must be comfortable working the trail. One reason people are talking about Tatertot he is incredible at that piece.

Spurrier?

I think it's Jimbo or Muschamp right now but Edsall will take it offered and will surely get an interview.

Hatcher is not likely IMO. I'd still prefer minority candidates. I'm fine with spurrier is we settle for him:laugher:

Why do you prefer minority candidates?

I'm certainly not against any and in fact I think Charlie Strong might be a good choice. He certainly has spent time around quality football programs and/or coaches so he knows what it takes. I think his time has come unless he's truly not that good.
