Fellas, I'm so proud of this post I just put on the hive in a thread called something like "The End of 1-A Football at Georgia Tech", that I just had to put it over here on the Real board. See if this ain't inflammatory:

"How many students at Tech?
How many scholarship athletes with SATs less than 950?
Do the division and look at the percentage.
Now who is blowing smoke up whose fundament?
How harmful to GT, GT's reputation, the state of Georgia, the taxpayer, the SA, or anyone else would a slight increase in this percentage be?
Somebody is being very pious about GT academics, and we who are GT sports fans need to let them know that FAR from wanting this % to go down, we want it up.
Sports is valuable to a major Southern public institution, period."

Interesting argument. Its not like having a very small pct. of S/A with SATs under 950 is going to lower the quality of education at TECH. Whats the point? Nobody's suggesting anybody getting a free ride ala _________. I don't get it.

Does anyone have any idea what our non-student-athlete graduation rate in comparison to student-athlete, or to overall student population? Also,
how do our various graduation rates compare w/ the rest of America's Championship Conference, the Special Education Conference, and overall national rates? Anyone got a source?

THWG!! FEAR THE JACKETS!!
