to hire the next head coach for football, i dont.
Which is why he’s a good match for our head coach. Both come from the Michael Scott school of leadership.I think the AD gets distracted by blinking lights and flashy colors.
Not to mention he’s done well raising money.I think our AD is doing a great job. Most sports other than football are doing well; he does a very good job engaging with fans and the broader GT community (or at least he did before COVID screwed a lot of that up); he is making unpopular but necessary decisions to address financial reality such as the Benz game and turf in BDS; even giving Collins one more year was the correct decision in my opinion.
The only black mark against him right now is the hire of Collins, which clearly isn't working out so far. But I won't reduce his entire tenure and job performance to that one decision, which I feel is what's happening with most of the people who hate him.
So to sum it up: yes, I do trust him.
Fair enough I guess as most of the non-revenue sports are doing well. But I can't ignore the 600 lb. gorilla that the main revenue sport is a dumpster fire. Basketball outside of 5 weeks last February/March hasn't done much either.I think our AD is doing a great job. Most sports other than football are doing well;
DRad? You mean Bobinsquatch?This AD does a great job of engaging alumni, letterwinners, big donors, and the overall fan base. Yes, he made his bed with Collins, but effective communication is a big improvement over DRad
I suspect the turf is much more about saving money than generating revenue. It just sounds better to say we want to host events than to say we don't want to keep spending the money to maintain one of the best fields in the nation.I’d put the turf into the negative category, and not just because it hasn’t resulted in much fundraising yet. It just doesn’t look good, and doesn’t seem to play very well either.
I will give some props for some small but needed upgrades to BDS (painting everything, new signage, etc.).

Drad was for Drad, period.... stepping stones, walked into a Clemson opportunity that was teed up for him, then on to South Beach. Thanks for screwing up the NCAA sham of an investigation....This AD does a great job of engaging alumni, letterwinners, big donors, and the overall fan base. Yes, he made his bed with Collins, but effective communication is a big improvement over DRad
What does being a Spaniard have to do with anything? You just sound racist.Yes, I do.
Better question: Do you trust Angel Cabrera, a Spaniard, to hire a better AD than the one we have? I don't.
I think the Zelnak/Garrett interview a few weeks ago made it pretty clear that Stansbury's career is now firmly lashed to C******' success or failure ("I have my guy"). So unless Tech has a winning season next year (Garrett set the bar at 8 wins but that isn't feasible imo) Stansbury will be escorted out of Edge along with C******.to hire the next head coach for football, i dont.
