If it comes to that, doubtful that TDope will be making the next hire. He's hitched and permabonded himself to the Collins train. I hope that Collins can turn it around.

But no, TDope is not very impressive. Major red flag for the school when he had the financial issues with his previous school. Outside of a 5 week run for the bball team, the revenue sports have floundered since he's been here.

I think our AD is doing a great job. Most sports other than football are doing well; he does a very good job engaging with fans and the broader GT community (or at least he did before COVID screwed a lot of that up); he is making unpopular but necessary decisions to address financial reality such as the Benz game and turf in BDS; even giving Collins one more year was the correct decision in my opinion.

The only black mark against him right now is the hire of Collins, which clearly isn't working out so far. But I won't reduce his entire tenure and job performance to that one decision, which I feel is what's happening with most of the people who hate him.

So to sum it up: yes, I do trust him.

Not to mention he’s done well raising money.

Fair enough I guess as most of the non-revenue sports are doing well. But I can't ignore the 600 lb. gorilla that the main revenue sport is a dumpster fire. Basketball outside of 5 weeks last February/March hasn't done much either.

Can't give him a passing grade when the GTAA is damn near broke and it will be difficult to increase revenue with GT's fickle fanbase (i.e. I expect football season ticket sales to be quite low).

This AD does a great job of engaging alumni, letterwinners, big donors, and the overall fan base. Yes, he made his bed with Collins, but effective communication is a big improvement over DRad

I’d put the turf into the negative category, and not just because it hasn’t resulted in much fundraising yet. It just doesn’t look good, and doesn’t seem to play very well either.

I will give some props for some small but needed upgrades to BDS (painting everything, new signage, etc.).

I suspect the turf is much more about saving money than generating revenue. It just sounds better to say we want to host events than to say we don't want to keep spending the money to maintain one of the best fields in the nation.

I hate it but think it's the right decision given our finances relative to our competitors. I do agree it should look better though.

Drad was for Drad, period.... stepping stones, walked into a Clemson opportunity that was teed up for him, then on to South Beach. Thanks for screwing up the NCAA sham of an investigation....

I'd like to know how much he gave CJP in the contract extension.
Why haven't those details been made public yet?

to hire the next head coach for football, i dont.
I think the Zelnak/Garrett interview a few weeks ago made it pretty clear that Stansbury's career is now firmly lashed to C******' success or failure ("I have my guy"). So unless Tech has a winning season next year (Garrett set the bar at 8 wins but that isn't feasible imo) Stansbury will be escorted out of Edge along with C******.

I was not a fan when we hired TStan, but I think he has done an outstanding job. He hired Nell, he completely changed the course of our baseball program by bringing in new assistants, he stood by Josh when things were bad (though we may need to tweak recruiting) and he had the courage to gently encourage CPJ to move on. Golf, Tennis and Volleyball are also doing well.

He is now revamping CGC’s staff. I think we are moving in a very positive direction and in a couple of years will be one of the better programs in the ACC and possibly a top 25 team.
