Matrix style today!!!

A win is a win is a win is a win.....

We were VERY close to another letdown loss today. CG did not have his team ready to play and it almost cost us. We have two weeks to get ready for Clemson who also didn't look that sharp today. The Coastal Division is there for the taking. We have to come ready to play EVERY GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's take the positives from this one and MOVE ON!!!!!

I don't think it's a matter of not being ready to play...I mean we marched it down the field easily the first drive. I think it was 2 big plays in Maryland's favor right off the bat in the KO return for a TD and Calvin's fumble at our 8 yard line. Those are some pretty deflating happenings.

I really couldn't care less at this point. We are 5-1, Maryland is crying all the way back home. Enough Said.

Huh? Lets summarize all of Maryland's touchdowns:

Special Teams gives up a TD on a KR.
Concensus all-american WR fumbles at his own 10.

That's it. One TD drive for 9 yards.

This was a game full of freak occurances where everything went Maryland's way, much like NC State last year, and we still won it. Never did I think our guys 'weren't ready to play.' Winning a game like this means we've taken the next step.

This is what I was expecting to happen....not what I wanted to see.
It was a hard fought win. Great defense. Reggie had good numbers,Choice had a good day,and Calvin had good numbers, but he proved today he is human.....he fumbled.

A very BIG GAME in 2 weeks! Clumsum

 Good character win. Had our backs against the wall and showed what we were made of. Will be valuable as a learning experience in games to come. Never underestimate your opponent (as I am writing this Duke is up 14-10 on Alabama at the half). And never give up when the chips are down.

Great win Jackets.

You all have your opinions on this game and I have mine. I watched the game on ESPNU and from what I saw the players just didn't seem to play with fire in their bellies. I understand that UM got some easy scores but overall it seemed to me that we were just going through the motions(offensively) for most of the game. Take nothing away from them, they won the game. but this wasn't the same team I saw last week at VT. Especially on special teams! But I'm happy with the W!

I'll tell you this much, Michael Johnson is a damn freak-o-nature!! That kid is gonna be something else!

"Stressful, very stressful," linebacker KaMichael Hall said. "We came out lax. We didn't have the pep in our step, our swagger, our fire."

Intensity at the opening gun or not, I felt like they were prepared. The intensity definitely picked up after the Terps went up big and we realized this was going to be a dog-fight.

I'm not worried at all. We're a really, really good football team and we've got an extra week to prepare for another really good squad. I am proud of our guys punching Maryland in the mouth again and again late to make sure they didn't steal our momentum in the game and the season away.

That's crazy talk. A KO return for a TD (where a couple of FR got out of their lanes) and a fumble by CALVIN of all people set up Maryland for 14 pts. Our D gave up 3 FG and our offense put 400 yds and 27 pts on the board.

The team was ready to play. There were a bunch of flukey things going on and the team overcame them. Like good (potentially great) teams do.

Whew! :ooo:

Indeed, a win is a win. Using UGA as an example, think of all of the times they have flirted with disaster but somehow managed to come out on top (Colorado a prime example). ND has a long tradition of escaping disaster as well.

GT is 5-1 and undefeated in conference play. Time for a week off to regroup and work on some things (special teams again comes to the forefront of things to work on) and get ready for a big game @ Clemson.

Had a chance to watch all of the game again on the DVR this morning and we really didn't play all that bad. Was watching the game yesterday during my 5 yr old's birthday party with about 15 4-5 yr olds running around the house so I really didn't get to see that much. I only got to see 1st and 3rd quarters and end of the game. Most of the other time it was crowd control.

Good win. Showed a lot of testicular fortitude coming back like they did. Foot has been officially taken out of mouth!

JUst for a bit of reference.....K-Mike and the rest of the D didn't get on the field until the score was already 7-7. THEY may have been a bit flat because of the KO return, but the O looked very good on that first drive.

The D pulled it together later. They only gave up 87 net rushing yards.....Ball had over 100, but Hollenbach took some negative rushes.

Let's not forget the 2 missed field goals that would have sealed the game earlier.

Exactly, this game proved to me that we have turned from possible contender to a true contender. This is the kind of game in the past we have lost, but this year when faced with the same situation, our team rallies from a 9 point 4th quarter deficit and wins.
