Does anyone have a screenshot of the "unbalanced" formation

CPJ was talking about that was called in the third? I wanna see what he is talking about

Then we got a terrible illegal formation call. We were in ‘unbalanced’; there was nothing illegal about it.

I was wondering about this also. Getting called for illegal formation has happened to us maybe one other time under CPJ that I can remember. I thought it was on the last drive of the 4th. Not in the 3rd. Maybe I am thinking of something else.

Looking at the play by play, it looks like it was the 4th on our game winning drive. In the grand scheme of things, it didn't cost us the game. I would still like to see what the reasoning for the call was

I paused it on TV. Looked legal. there were 4 players in the backfield.

This is the play. They called illegal formation. Looks like a good call to me... only 6 guys on the LOS. Playside AB looks too far back. Slot is obviously not on LOS. Searcy, Marshall, JT, Lynch, and Slot are all off. It's borderline, maybe, but I can see why they'd call it.

yeah its a good call....cpj will have to take that one back; lynch screwed up

His feet are no further back than the right side of our OL. Does he have to have a hand down or something?

Players are said to be on the LOS if they are breaking the plane of an imaginary line through the centers waist. so Our OL having their hand down counts. But Lynch is upright and no part of his body is breaking that plane.

To me, it is pretty damn close. The ball has been snapped in the pic and the center is moving forward

Yep. Illegal.

..but that's not illegal.

Wtf, was the first pic after the snap?

Yes, you can see the center moving forward, the qb moving backwards, and the bback moving forward in the first picture.

Closest screenshot I could get on my phone. it's about .1 seconds after the snap. Even in LongestDay's photo, it's borderline and I can see why they called it. Lynch shouldn't have been that far back and I think it was a mistake. I'd have to look for another unbalanced formation to verify where the playside AB usually lines up.

He is even with the WR.... no way this is questionable.
The mark in question is set by the center, I believe, rather than the wideout. It's hard to be too mad about right now since we won, but considering all the holding I watched Georgia get away with yesterday, it is obnoxious for the official to throw a flag on this over a half-step at most. I dunno, öööö it.

Are we sure it's on the WR and not on whomever the first guy on the line is? It looks like he doesn't have his hand down and all the others do, and he looks kind of far back. I'm not familiar with the rule at all though.
