"That's what it's turned out to be," Gailey said. "That wasn't as big a win as people thought. I'm afraid we didn't handle prosperity very well."
Georgia Tech was dominated by Boston College 24-10 in Atlanta on Sept. 15 and followed that with last Saturday's 28-23 loss to Virginia in Charlottesville.
"Anytime you're not winning, there's reasons or excuses, whichever way you want to look at it," Gailey said. "We feel like we have to work on a lot of little things that might make a difference whether you win or lose. Third-down conversions would be an easy one to talk about on offense. Tackling better on defense. Kickoff returns on special teams. We don't lack for things to work on in practice."
The Yellow Jackets face another difficult test on Saturday in Atlanta against surging Clemson (
ABC, 3:30 p.m. ET). A loss would have Gailey's crew planning for next season.
The availability of Georgia Tech tailback
Tashard Choice for Saturday remains in question because of a right hamstring pull that limited him during the past two games.
Gailey said Choice would play against Clemson only if he practiced without a problem Wednesday and Thursday.
