Does CPJ have Brian Gregory traits?

Gregory was just fired. With possibly our most talented team in the last few years we weren't able to finish games and get the W.

I love CPJ and want him here. However there have been games where I feel the team just couldn't finish like they should. What do you think?

Our most talented football team in years beat Georgia and won the Orange bowl.

You're retarted

I think two things:

First, that literally every team out there, including Alabama under Nick Saban, has games where they don't finish like they should. Yes, we had more of those than normal last year, but I don't really recall it being a trend under CPJ.

Second, that it's very odd to call our team last year, which lost every single skill position starter except one, our "most talented team in the last few years". Especially when all those players we lost finished the previous season ranked #7.

That said, no doubt we had a putrid season this past year. You could even call it "Gregory-esque", if that's what gets you going. But to compare Paul Johnson to Brian Gregory is asinine; his best season far exceeds anything Gregory ever did, and his typical season is significantly better than Gregory's typical season.

CPJ absolutely has CBG trails. His players graduate. They don't generally get in trouble. He rarely gets top shelf recruits. He is generally respected among his piers. He runs an old school slow down offense.

CPJ has several non-CBG traits. He wins his division. He plays for conference titles. He plays at the upper level of post season games from time to time.

There have been years where we closed out close games (2014) and years we didn't (2015).

In short, :bigcry:

I might have been day drinking a little when I heard the news. Apologize for the bad thread

How many times did Brian Gregory win the basketball equivalent of the Orange bowl? Or the ACC title?

I remember that time Brian Gregory took us to the elite 8. Twice.

Well dudes........PJ will get a pass due to beating Georgie twice in what eight years and the Orange Bowl win will keep the ticker going but we do not finish games or should I say we didnt last year but maybe with different breaks this is better year.Brian was in last year of so of contract and if its a choice between football coach or bb coach.......well PJ wins hands down.Gosh now long did Chan win his Orange Bowl appearnece ......ton of money from Tech after he was fired..Brain and his twenty wins were just not enough

He is definitely more Phewitt than BG. Gets in top tier talent, has a great run and gets a contract extension, then sits on his ass and doesn't do anything.
