anybody see a pattern? I hope it's not the same pattern but I remember Donnie Davis being a tremendous athlete who Bill Lewis ruined. O'Leary had enough since to see the guys athletic ability but unfortunately "The Fridge" was not back on the scene yet. Can y'all imagine what Davis would have been like with four years of tutoring under "Fridge"?

I also was amazed at the failure of Donnie Davis at TECH to never live up to his billing. I can vividly remember his first games running scared from the oppossing defenses like he had no clue. I'm not saying bad play calling, I'm saying a look of fear in his eyes. It took Davis his whole 4 years to develop (for whatever reason), he was not an automatic.

I think essentially everyone noticed that parallel months ago.

Another pattern I fear seeing is the lack of interest by recruits who will reach the same conclusion as us by watching the games and the "coaching," and observing in our game the antithesis of Fridge's exciting and wide open game.

Fridge: exciting, unpredictable, high scoring, powerful; "I want to play for a team like that."

Gailey: boring, predictable, low scoring, playing not to lose, sit on a lead, yawn; "Thanks, but I'll go play somewhere else."

SouthGa.. I definately saw the similarities.. and stated my opinion in my letter to the big 3... I spoke with one of them today... and gave my opinion again over the phone.

Jacketguy, I bet there are a lot of influential and past football players that are asking a lot of questions to the right people.

It is obvious something is wrong. Since we can only observe and guess, we come up with all sorts of conclusions.

It would be almost maniacal and probably near impossible to fire a coach after just one season and a 7-5 record. Having said this, I would wager a cup of coffee there will be some changes made after the season.

I would also wager, there has been some internal question and answer sessions between Gailey and the AD.

Just another view on Davis. He was highly recruited out of Burlington NC from a school which turned out record setting QB after record setting QB. Funny thing is none turned out to be good college QBs. Don't know if that would have been true with Donnie with different coaching but I think it's a mistake to assume what might have been.

On Bilbo, I still think he will be our QB next year.

I think Donnie would have been a really good QB with the right coaching.
Under Lewis...well we all know what kind of coach Lewis was. I think Donnie looked scared bc the caoch did not have him prepared.
Could he have excelled under the Fridge? Most likely yes.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I agree Ahso...I get the feeling that BOB is gone... not saying that I would want that... I would prefer that all coaches return, making corrections from what has been learned from this year... including Gailey... but I get the feeling BOB is gone... not so sure that Raye is going to make the cut either... but all of this is just pure speculation on my part... I hope that Ellis either changes techniques or is replaced...
