But I think I saw some guys for Gardner-Webb that I would be recruiting to transfer.

Their punter was outstanding, one of their WRs, and maybe the short fat guy on their OL.

if they had the grades to go to a school like Tech, they would likely have already done so in the first place, dont you think?

Yeah, me and JTS were like, "Can Number 7 play right away? Give that guy a textbook and a scholarship!"

You dont think there is anyone at GW that makes good grades?

Lets take the punter for instance, maybe he is a 4.0 student but was not a outstanding punter, he played a year of college ball with a good coach and boomed into a helluva punter.

Isnt reviewing grades and all a part of the recruiting process?

Yeah, just look at Durant Brooks.

no..there are tons of guys in "tournament conference" and d-2 teams that could play big time football...

things such as high school injuries, playing on crappy HS teams--hold them back...

look up and down college rosters--95% of the high schools on the list are good to great HS programs...

valdosta state is loaded with kids from--michigan state, ohio state, florida, uga---mostly kids who were just tired of the politics that go into d-1 football

their punter had a CAREER day....even with a couple of bad ones. The couple of pretty good ones are his highlight reel for the year. He came into this game with baaaaaad numbers.

Seems to me most of the D-1AA players were either 1) Good, but not great HS players or 2) transfers from D-1A schools where they were not getting enough PT.

or couldnt stay eligible in D-1A

Pretty arrogant, don't you think? You have no idea what kinds of grades/SATs the kids on that team have. Undoubtedly some couldn't cut it at Tech. But it's just as likely some could.
