Don\'t seem to understand... (Long)

We have lost two games. A preview released on the Hive before the season started said that we would finish 10-2 and everyone said "I'd take that record." Now that we have lost two games, the same people that said that are belly-aching like none I've never seen in my life. Folks, we have a young team and a new head coach. We aren't exactly the prime team to make a run at the national championship. But, it's not like we're playing for nothing. Many have picked us to finish as low as 6th in the conference. Someone on this forum has said that there is no way we'll beat Maryland, NC State, and FSU. So everyone pick one of those that's not FSU or NC State and pray for a miracle, yeah, sounds like a true fans plan. Some have said that todays game is what loses recruits. I would hate for a potential RAT to look on here and see the fans and alums who call two losses an automatic terrible season (before it's close to over) and say that we can only hope for a bowl. If I was such a potential recruit, I would look for a school where the fans were optomistic about every game and believed the team I would be playing on could win every game. I suggest than some of you take this bye-week to stop whining and get ready to beat Maryland.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Actually, I think those people are in the minority. I was actually kind of proud of the crowd today. Not for the booing, but for sticking around till the end. Even after the last turnover, a LOT of people stayed to see what would happen. Used to be in that situation half the stadium would leave to beat traffic. As is, traffic was awful, and it made me feel a little proud.

Well basically the two games we lost we should of won. I think the losses were against teams with better overall athletes (FSU & UGAg). We still have those games and we also are not a very well coached team. Look for the losses to start piling up as we get into the meat of the schedule. I think we will beat UVA & Duke and very possibly lose the rest.

Sorry, but I'm real discouraged. I don't see us beating Maryland or Virginia, much less FSU and certainly not Uga.

No offense - but if I hear the "We're young" arguement again, I Think I'll puke....

I've been hearing "We're young" now for 30+ years - come on - look at our Defense, - its a senior led unit. And I thought all spring and summer, one of the reasons I kept hearing about how good we'd be is out senior leadership etc etc

YOUNG? You don't have a CLUE what you talking about.WE are the MOST EXPERIENCED TEAM in THE CONFERENCE by the depth chart and class.The only thing young(and foolish) about this team is the WAY they have been coached so far.Not counting pre-season(Vandy/UConn),the showing on OFF has been unimpressive and then this week the DEf goes on vacation.The special teams have NOT been special.And this is against the WEAK part of the schedule.
If something doesn't change fast,this season is toast.

Before you have a heart-attack, AlaGold, let me explain what I mean by young. We are on a new coaching staff. Our Quarterback has not played in a couple of years. We have lost a lot of good players and had to put in YOUNGER players to fill the gaps. And THE LAST PERSON I'd want to know as a Tech fan is one who says that there's no way we can beat Georgia. If one can say "We are going to lose definatly." , then they are most definatly not a true fan.

go all the way from here. Ugag will be the toughest test, but they are all beatable. WF proved to me that cool plays makes up for lacks in quality players. Lets face it, WF is good. Their offense is terrific, and their defense is good enough to get the turnovers.
