CG is a conservative coach. In the long run, that's good. He (and BO'B) has stuck with Suggs in situations that call for a veteran QB, and Suggs is our only QB who fits that description. Unfortunately, the young man did not execute. He may not have the whatever-it-is to be our QB. Meanwhile, a conservative coach is gradually getting another young man ready instead of throwing him in, unprepared.

I really am not sure why you guys what to spin the above facts into a doom scenario for Georgia Tech football. To me, it's the very attitude we want.

UGA had better be damn good, with an all senior O-line, TWO excellent back-up QBs (one temporarily out with an injury), and a veteran defense. They better be winning.

We are young, with a first year coach, and our two best players out for the year. We're still in every game till the end.

People who boo college athletes are jerks who need to get a life.

i agree. now way GT loses that game with Gathers and Hollings. plus WF isn't that bad. with Bilbo being productive when he gets a chance to play, the future looks pretty good.

BDGHOST IT is true we are still young and coach Gailey is doing right to bring Bilbo along slow it will be best in the long run.

I have to agree with BDG...people always talk about a "young" team. Truth is, this year we have a good bit of vets. Mostly 3rd year starters. The only youth I see is in the chemistry of the team. THAT is still young, and will take time to develop. New coach + new QB = needs time. How many of you would agree that if this year we still had Godsey, we wouldn't be in this situation?

Look at the depth chart and you will see that we are still young. I do agree with CULB new quarterback-new coach = slow start

It's not so much the Qb problem as it is the coaching problem. No half time adjustments on defense, the ground game was not used. Couplethose two facts with the lack of a GOOD QB and you get what we had. I don't think this spells doomsday for Tech football but I will say this... '02 looks bad with the meat of our schedule coming up. We might win a couple more games but the rest of them are probable losses.

Guess we'll be young again last year.

Sitting behind me at the game Saturday was the biggest Tech fan we've got, the guy who wears the yellow-fringe jacket. He never stopped yelling, and that included booing Suggs and calling for Bilbo. Booing can sometimes = a passionate fan who just wants to win.

Why don't YOU get a life bellyseries, and stop bagging on REAL fans who just want to let their opinions be heard. And, by the way, most booers (including a hell of a lot of GT bandmembers) are booing the big, bad coaches, and not the delicate little players.

I agree with Belly. Boo the Pro's. Tom Glavins performance deserved a Boo! Maybe Two!

Again ,I'll say it .Tech is the MOST experienced team in the conference by class/player.(We replaced Gathers,a SR with another SR),Youth is NOT NOT NOT the problem people.Coaching and decisions are.

Got a chip on your shoulder, beezoner?
Or are you feeling embarrassed that some boys playing a game has become more than an opportunity for fun and school spirit, and has turned into.....what? Your life?

Actually, bandmembers and students booing doesn't bother me like alumni and other fans. Presumably, they'll grow out of it when the players are no longer their peers.
Meanwhile, boo pros and leave amateur athletics alone. So what if the players and coaches are too focused to pay attention, you're still a jerk to boo.
