Down with the NCAA and their obscure idiocy, part 5938...

http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/gatech/stories/2006/10/14/1015techprobation.html

The rules are complicated, and they keep changing. For example, after Georgia Tech knocked off then-No. 11 Virginia Tech late last month, the Yellow Jackets mailed copies of AJC game coverage of the 38-27 victory to recruits. Black and white copies were legal under NCAA rules. Color copies wouldn't have been. Director of football operations Geoff Collins couldn't be in charge of those mailings because he isn't a head coach or assistant coach. Giff Smith, the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator, had to do all but "routine clerical tasks," such as stuffing envelopes.

I just got home from a weekend at Lake Hartwell, so I just now got my computer to read up on the events of the weekend.

Why, oh why, is there a link on the ajc.com sports section this morning titled, "Tech: Thriving Through Probation". Just because the Dawgs couldn't defeat any school on their schedule from the state of Tennessee, the ajc feels it's time to throw this out there. Should have expected it I suppose, diverting a little attention away from the UGA homecoming embarrassment to Vandy.

You know, that could backfire in their face.

Think about it, through all the conflict, GT still excels.

Not too bad after all, is it.
