...not sure of the time --but just heard he will be on this morning. Thought I'd pass it along.

...added: DRad is on the air now --8:25 am

Quick Recap:

On air for about 10 minutes.
Glad to have the process completed, glad to have PJ on board.

Looking to move the program forward.
Compete for ACC c-ships.
Get some wins in "that rivalry game" --move forward from the six straight losses.

Considers PJ a good fit for GT.
Mentioned PJ's ties in-state, that he has been ultra-successful as a coach, he has a competitive spirit and a desire to succeed at the Div. 1 level.

On John Tenuta:
PJ & JT will meet this week.
JT busy leading the team into the bowl game.
He is a great coach as well as a great individual.
It will be the HC's decision on his staff.

PJ has been on DRad's radar for some time.
Mentioned "that list" that every coach is known to keep in his desk drawer --and that PJ has been on his list for some time.

About the interview:
Asked how PJ would expand his O system with the higher calibur of recruit available to him at the D. 1 level.
PJ is not intimidated by the ACC environment and understands the type of recruit that is a good fit for GT.

The fan base:
Job to get not only the GT fan base, but the "fringe community", excited about GT football.
Sold 25+K season tickets last year --looking to move that number "high north of 30K" for next season.

Great report!

Much appreciated by us out-of-towners!

I'm really glad that we have Drad leading our Athletic Department.

Havent we lost 7iar to the mutts

Yep, caught that one immediately. DRad obviously has had CG's six losses to UGA brought to his attention a lot lately --so much so that he did say "six" instead of "seven".

Losses from a previous coach don't count in the streak - we've got a clean slate, babeee!!!

:D

What are the mutts going to do now without their 2 best players: Chan and RB

They'll probably continue to have a more talented, often very well coached team, which they've had every year since 1999/2000, with the exception of last year (the 2006 game, not the one a few weeks ago).

We shouldn't have lost seven in a row, but it's not like we've had a better team for a long time and somehow couldn't get over the hump.
