According to scout. We are there at #36, but I still like our class better.

Wow! Last year they were #71. I am surprised how quickly Cutcliffe has turned things around at Duke. They actually look competitive now. Can you imagine us and Duke both being 3-1 going into the game together? Who woulda thunk it? :wow:
 
I'm not sure I trust the ranking of an outfit unable to either grasp or implement the notion of a weighted average to address situations where large classes of low-ranking recruits are rated higher than small classes of high-ranking recruits.

I mean if your job is to assess quality, why can't you figure out how to measure it?

It doesn't matter. Duke can't beat anybody. That team was always atrocious. It was proven in court. Playing a 3-1 Duke means we've entered bizarro world. Maybe Rod Sterling will call the game.
 
The same thing was going on last year at this time because they got a lot of early commits so that they had numbers. They dropped from then until signing day as the better schools got more commits
 
I was looking at this yesterday, and while we are #36, we only have 11 commits.

The only team ranked above us with 11 commits is Miami(i think). There are no teams ranked above us with less than 11. Good start.
 
Duke is ranked #70 in average number of stars. Of course, Wake Forest recruited like this too and they're doing alright.

Don't waste a lot of your weighing stars at this point in the season. It is more productive to see how many and which schools are recruiting these same kids.
 
The recruiting "stars" are based off Soph-Junior season production, size/speed, and strength of HS program. It does not take in to account leadership, grades, attitude, work ethic, and adaptabilty into the coaching style (ex. 3-O). I must agree with CPJ that its mostly BS, however I do get excited when we get highly a rated commit.
 
LOL @ Duke having a good recruiting class. Its harder to get in there and play football than it is at Tech.

i_like_money means that it is harder to get paid to play at Duke than even GT!

the fact is that we at GT have the absolute TOUGHEST entrance requirements academically in the ACC, including Duke.

so, just like you, i have no idea what the post means
