That loss was so glorious, it was like 50 last-play losses combined. The stars had aligned perfectly for them that year, all the teams in other conferences who would've gotten to the Championship Game ahead of them lost. They were just one play away from playing an overrated Notre Dame team for the title... It was like if the Cubs had lost last year in the bottom of the 9th on an unforced error.
