Sent him an e-mail last week and he responded within a few hours. Not sure if it is a carbon copy that he's responding with but I don't think so. His number was at the bottom so I gave him a call and left a message. He returned my phone call within 30 minutes. We spoke for about 10-15 minutes and I think I'm going to go down and meet him once he gets in town. Really nice and obviously makes himself available.
I suggest if you have anything you want to talk to him about drop him a line. His e-mail address is drad@lsu.edu

XXXXXXX,
Thank you for the note and kind words. We will be evaluating all facets of the program in the coming months and certainly the need and ability to fund and compete at a high level will be important factors when evaluating our
sport offerings.
Thank you again for the email....I am excited to be at Tech.

not a carbon copy response. Friend who I share a house with sent him an email and got a response different from yours. He seems like a good guy who is genuinely happy to have the job and eager to get to Tech.

same here. emailed him and got a quick response. seems very excited and very focused on getting GTAA back on track. he's got my full support.

I sent him an e-mail and got a very nice personalized response the same day.

Rad took the time to reply to my email today. Unless he has hundreds of stock emails at his assistant's disposal, he is replying and quite graciously so, himself. I sent mine yesterday and received his reply around 3pm today.

Because it's an active topic here, as it should be, I can tell everyone that his reply to my hopes that GTAA will be more fan friendly and media friendly was VERY favorable.

To paraphrase, Rad spoke about about open door policies and an understanding that positive media relations, especially local, is paramount to success and that this will definitely garner his attention in this job that he can't wait to get started.
I can't wait either! Good luck to the new coach!

Pls someone post his email address. I'm getting ready for another trip to Europe and don't have time to try and find it. So pls post.

Thanks Houser, now I'm on my way to Europe again, for the 6th time in 2 years.

Fog,
We hope you take it easy over there. We don't want to hear about you getting over there and having more heart complications. You may get stuck in France and not get out.

Yes that is the correct address. I had read these previous emails and was a little skeptical so I wrote him myself. In short I welcomed him to GT & offerred him some things that I thought were relevant & perhaps important...That was earlier this morning....To my surprise I had a returned email to me by 4:30 p.m. this afternoon in reply. I must say I am a little shocked. Not to say that I didn't believe but to give us the FANS (everyday fans) a precedence over all that is on his plate right now speaks VOLUMES about who he is a person.....I am impressed to say the least. He basically thanked me for my suggestions and agreed with each point. He also encouraged me to stop by to see him if I got the chance & hoped to meet me at a GT event. IF he attacks his job with the same tenacity then boys I think we've found ourselves a jewel of a person.... I AM IMPRESSED
and he's winning over the fans one by one...this is factual proof....It reaffirms my feelings that the "fans opinion matter & that our voice is important". Here's a copy of his reply to me:
Doug,
Thank you for the note and the kind welcome. Each of the points you mention...local media, community involvement and the striving for excellence are all major points that we at GT athletics must improve upon.
I am anxious to begin and represent the Institute. I hope to meet you in the near future at an event. Make sure to stop by and say hello..we have work to do but we have a great amount of resources....
Thanks again for the note.

I also sent him an email and received a very personal email back within a very short time even though it was late. I like his tone and I like his style....I say we all get behind the man and support him and listen to him so that he may listen to us.

OK, so he's a good PR man. Just remember, its not what you say, its what you do.

RW, no doubt about your comment. I just think that it's so damned refreshing to at least think that the power base at GT athletics will be more open with its loyal following.

Wasn't that pretty much the ONLY benefit of Curry?

Nope... Curry was a Tech man who walked the same halls as me and donated sweat and blood in the White and Gold, and went on to make us proud as a pro, as a coach and as a man. Radmans got a long way to go to match up with that.

I walked those same halls and my sweat was from hitting the books to get the grades I needed. But Rad is the man and Curry is not. This is not meant to demeanor anything on Curry, but "not" supporting our new AD is not going to be worth a cent to Curry in any capacity.
