Eli Manning ran a 5.98 forty?

The Mannings are excellent at their footwork and I will guarantee that he is twice as fast with his over Taylor Bennett and bunch of other quarterbacks out there. (Not attacking Taylor but it is his weak spot.)

I have to disagree. Taylor isn't that slow. Just because he's white and looks slow, haven't you seen some of his runs? He's put moves on some players too.

Taylor's a 4.7 guys According to Scout.com:

Yes footwork is a quickness and is a whole lot more important than running in a straight line.

I guess now we know why he was unable to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming an Olympic sprinter and instead was forced into going into the family business :)

That brings to mind a report on Godsey who was often referenced as "unathletic." He reminded everyone how many sports he played at a VERY high level. And he showed that he could run even though he wasn't exactly a breakaway threat. (I loved that 35 yard gallop.)

I wouldn't call anyone starting at the college level "unathletic" as all of them are probably more athletic than 95% of the population.

We have seen Tater can run when required. QBs can generally do more with their arm than their legs as there are plenty of better "runners" available on the team.

Remember Steve Young and Donovan McNabb in the early days? They trusted the legs more than the arm and were quick to tuck it and run and both were good at it as well. But neither was successful until they looked to run only as a last resort.

It is good to have a QB who can do some damage on the ground if the defense presents the opportunity. It is bad to have a QB looking for any excuse to run rather than throw the ball.
