ESPN Bowl Projections

We've already scored 28 points against them and we haven't received an invitation yet.

ACC:

Orange: BC
CFA: VT
Gator: GT
Champs: FSU
Meineke: UNC / CU
Music City: CU / UNC
Emerald: UM
Humanitarian: WF / MD
Eagle Bank: MD / WF
Independence: NCSt / LA Tech
Motor City: NCSt / SDSU

Ummm. Doesn't the Gator have a tie-in with the Big East? I would expect West Virginia to be the opponent. I can't believe both of those morons were clueless on this.

I thought Gator picked ahead of the Peach Bowl? Why wouldn't they take VT or FSU over us?

From the Gator Bowl site, these are the affiliations:

ACC Conference: Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, University of North Carolina, NC State, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest

Big East Conference: Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, University of Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, Syracuse, West Virginia

University of Notre Dame

Big 12 Conference: Baylor, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech

When did they add the Big 12? What's the rule for bypassing the Big East?

Please don't match us with Texas Tech or Missouri. They could score 60 on us. We might still win the game, but it would be ugly.

The Sun and Gator bowls have a 4-year agreement where one takes a Big East/ND team twice and the other takes a Big 12 team twice. Two years ago the Gator took a Big East team and last year they took a Big 12 team, so this year each has its options open.

They get the either the Big East #2 pick or the Big 12 #5 pick. The odds of TTU or Mizzou falling that far in the Big 12 pecking order are extremely low.

I think we would murder Nebraska! When are the officials bowl matchups announced? next sunday?

I completely disagree. Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Missouri, and Oklahoma State are their top 5. The fifth has to be between the last 3 teams. It's a stout league this year. If Missouri loses the title game, they could easily fall to the 5th bowl pick.

These bowl match-ups piss me off.

CFA: ACC #2/3 vs. SEC #5,
Gator: ACC #2/3 vs. Big XII #5

LSU?!? They are 7 and effing 5. (3 and 5 in conference, how in the hell are they "SEC #5"?)
Nebraska?!? 8 and 4. (3-way tied for #4 in conference, but #6 based on overall schedule.)

It's disprespectful to the ACC. We should have parity and get to at least have a shot at someone with a similar record. Assuming they beat UConn, I'd rather face an 9-3 Pitt. Even though the Big East sucks balls, at least they're ranked in the top 25!

I am hoping CFA will not want VT back so soon and will pick us as the hottest team in the confernce.

I want any team but Nebraska, for two reasons. One, they know from birth how to defend the option, two they're the only team that might concieveably hire PJ away from us in the future, because they're traditionally an option team.

Anyone else I'm cool with.

Please please please let us beat up on some weak sauce SEC team.

After Chick-fil-A gave up the big money to remove "Peach" from the bowl's name, they got bumped ahead of the Gator in selection order. That said, there's no way Chick-fil-A passes up us to pick a VT team coming off a loss in the championship game and two lackluster performances against Duke and UVA or a BC team coming off a loss, because nobody cares about college football in Boston.
