Getting a little ridiculous with May & Holtz. Saying that USC clearly didn't want to be there and that they are still under heavy sanctions.

Now while I really can't deny any of this, it still pisses me off and they wouldn't do it if this were not USC/any SEC team.

And
:bigcry:

Nice win today, screw anyone saying different. We weren't given a chance.

Let's wait and see how they spin Vandy beating a team with no head coach.

Of course May said USC was way too talented before the game. Just covering for his shitty pick, as usual.

Did USC look like they wanted to be there? I didn't get to see the game.

Hard to say. They didn't look as bad as I've seen us look when we didn't want to be there (Boise Bowl 2, etc.). Mostly, their QB was absolutely terrible, but our defense was playing pretty inspired ball. Our offense didn't look totally in synch, but we kept at them and mostly broke their will eventually.

JRjr

Looked very much like a team that was going through the motions and one that had only a handful of players take bowl practices seriously.

Screw ESPN and Mark May. This was a VERY important win for the program regardless of USC's state of mind. The USC name brand is one of the top 5 in the country and the Jackets convincingly beat them on national TV.

+ eleventy billion

USC looked like a talented team with a mistake for a QB. Our defense looked like an underdog that fought like hell for every tackle. May and Holtz are both asses. We earned that win.

According to the announcers, every time USC didn't complete a pass it was because the usc qb overthrew the pass or because of the wind. What I noticed was our dbs were there in coverage every time as well.

Let's not kid ourselves. Offense played terrible. Defense won the game and made the FSU game respectable. We need scores on offense against good defenses. The Vad pass to Sims was awesome!

I think it is worth noting that in that "terrible" wind, on our first scoring drive we converted on third and long, with a pass, and then scored a touchdown, with a pass.
ESPN is just pissed that our program still has some life and that a "ööööööö" offense from a school that cares about weird stuff, like academics, beat one of their golden children.

I think you guys are exaggerating the level of "downplaying" they did. There was some, but I just let it slip when Mark May drools over a "4.2 40" Vad Lee, and talks about how great our offense can be under him.

Also, the Sportcenter guys tonight jokingly said "Today, we were all Yellow Jackets".
