I like the guy and his game, but how can someone who has already been in the pros be the "Next" athlete? The should have went with CJ...
 
Well, my thinking is that Calvin already IS "The Athlete", so he can't realy be "Next" ;)
 
Congrats to Dwight Howard. He deserves it and is a Georgia Boy which is a big plus. I would like to know how the rest of the voting shook out to see where my man Calvin finished, though.
 
NBA sucks, who actually watches that crap anymore. :dunno:

Obviously should've been CJ. He's gonna be huge in the pros. Just another magazine cover really though.
 
Dwight Howard had a big advantage in that he is already a pro and has been tearing it up lately. He looks like he could be a truly great player in the future. I think if Calvin had been up for this next year, things would've been different. Marques Colston got a ton of attention this year, and Calvin should do even better(assuming[praying] he goes to a decent team). Plus, we all know Calvin will be good for 2 or 3 historically flashy catches, no matter who he goes to.

He was a high profile recruit that (supposedly) was down to GT and UNC with a slight lean toward GT before he decided to go the pro route.
 
I've heard he's a pretty stand-up guy in the midst of all those NBA thugs. He also played high school ball with Crit. Congratulations to him and hope he does well.
 
I quit my sub to ESPN The Magazine. It was weak on football and generally trashed baseball, while glorifying the nba and x-games.

I have no qualms with D Howard though. He seems Calvinesque in how he lives with his young fame. Congratulations!

Best high schoolplayer in the country 2 years ago. One of the 5 best basketball players in the world right now. Nephew of Fulton County DA Paul Howard. high school teammate of Crit.

He's a Christian who doesn't drink, screw around, or do anyhthig thuggish. He is an awesme young man. Basically he's Calvin but has already proved it on the pro level. Great guy, great Atlantan, and prob buds with Calvin would be my guess.
