If I’m not mistaken, the goal this year was to redshirt Griffin since he serves a very similar role to Mason. I don’t think it was about underutilization, but more about setting up the power back part of the room for the next couple years.

Very much have to agree on this. College football has become something very different than even what it was a decade ago imo

Hmmm ... my bad.

We had three really good running backs this year, and Griffin got just 7 carries this season.
But he still hasn't gotten a lot of work in three seasons - just 91 carries, at 4.3 ypc average. We really don't know how good he is - or isn't. Of course, having what passes as an offensive line in front of him hasn't helped.
So we'll have Dontae (who has looked really good when in there), Jamious (still mostly an unknown quantity, IMO) and two freshmen in the signing class, provided they stay committed. Collins didn't get a RB in the 21 class after getting Gibbs in 20, correct?

No big. Obviously FSU saw something we didn’t since the only reason he chose us is because they told him he wouldn’t be a QB. It was worth a shot but he’s too raw to start and I just don’t see it in him here

True!

That doesn't mean we can afford to throw away great players due to OLine incompetence and CBK's incompetence.

Future NFL Guys like Gibbs causes the opposing defenses & their DC to plan differently for our Offense, which is a huge advantage for us.

Losing a Player to injury or the NFL is one thing, but wasting a Player due to crappy OLine play and CBK's incompetence is unforgivable for a Program like ours
