This guy is polished to the core!

We all should re-up on season tickets just because of the way he handled everything today.

I was impressed with DRad's polished interaction today.

Now we will see how well he identifies a next successful coach at GT.

I hope he does well, but it would be nice if he received input on his first time through a major hiring process from some old hands such as Homer Rice and Skip Bertram.

The decision on the coach that is the right fit for the current time at GT is essentially all DRad's (and Clough's), but Rice and Bertram may be able to provide some pointers on possible pitfalls in going through the processes of selection, coach recruiting, and introduction of a new coach to the fanbase. We really need to get buy-in from the GT fanbase to help heal the rift amongst GT fans that has existed over the last few years.

With available contacts and advice from experienced ADs, there is no reason to have any slip-ups in the process steps when there already is enough at stake and to consider in the decision on a coach by itself.

not just yet, only half the battle is won.

i'll wait and see who he brings in....there's still an oppurtunity to blow this whole thing

Rice hired someone else over O'Leary. Let's not go there.

I did not say he should take recommendations on candidates from Rice and Bertram. DRad has to be his own man on the decision because he has to live with the results as opposed to Rice and Bertram.

I just said that input on having a smooth process might be helpful given that this is DRad's first time going through a major coaching hire decision. The process itself can turn into a circus if it is not properly managed. Rice and Bertram probably can offer advice on avoiding the circus and maybe even advice on selling the opportunity at GT to a prospective coach.
