F$U showing us some luv......

That's pretty good respect from FSU fans, but where do a couple of posters over there get that GT "has no defense"???

Gotta say - Nole board is a very informed one, with the exception of a few. they are pretty dead on.

Only a few guys bashed our D, and a couple said our pass defense was suspect, which was accurate. Our blown up late game losses were from our pass D. Big pass plays lost VT, NCState, and UGA. UVA plain beat our butts all around.

They say we ar gonna have to find a way to score more points to win, and that we play well early season, no matter the opponent. Lots of truth.

ND will get a lot of points from that O. The question is will they get less aginst us than usual, and will be get more against them than usual. ND has the edge IMHO. Still we definitely a huge underdog either. A very winnable game with the right breaks.

Notre Dame's DB's haven't gotten any faster. If G-Tech can score around 35 points then I think they can pull it off. It all rests on Mr.Ball's shoulders.

35 points? This guys has to be kidding, when was the last time we scored 35? Outside of that hillarious post and a few others most of them were dead on, but do remember they were scarred sh*tless the last time we played them (if only that goaline QB sneak had worked) and we have a reputation for occasionally upsetting top teams. Hopefully our secondary (whatever is left of it) holds.

I do not think we will need to score 35 to beat ND...I hope not anyway.

NotreDame will likely be ranked #1 in many polls...and Brady Quinn will likely be the #1 Heisman Trophy candidate coming in as well. It will be a tough one for our seconday...but hopefully our DL will help that matter out.

The key to that game will be pressure on Quinn and taking away the run. No one is going to beat ND this year by covering their receivers. That said, our DBs have to make them work for it and limit YAC but if Quinn can throw on time we won't stop them. But then again, neither would FSU or anybody else.

Tenuta's defense requires good open field tackling. The thing that has me worried is our safety help making the tackles and limiting the yards after the catch.

If you look at our big wins we basically played a conservative ball control game. Our defense was playing offensively limited (in throwing) teams in Auburn and Miami. The ACC has not had very good offenses of late and that helps too. I'm afraid that ND has a good enough offense to play wide open, make a few mistakes, but still thrash us because we can not compete in a high scoring game. I just think it's an unfortunate set of events that we get a certain kind of ND team that we don't match up well with. I'm hoping but right now, I think ND will be favored by 8 points and the odds are good that they'll cover, say 31-21. Boy I hope I am wrong.
