We took and old fashioned hiney spanking last night.

For whatever reasons, I can't say for certain;

(1)-I know the color of Clemson's uniforms didn't enter in the factor.
(2)-I know it wasn't because they had a silly rock to rub when they came out to the field and we didn't.
(3)-I don't think we can blame the officiating for this one.
(4)-Maybe it was due to a week off, yeah, that's it, we can blame it on that fact.
(5)-Maybe it was due to Reggie being banged up some, but if that's the case, how could he limp so badly one play and look so healthy the next?
(6)-Maybe it was due to Clemson possibly drugging the gatorade, yeah, that's it, they never loved us anyway.

Who knows?

All I could tell by watching the game was that we just flat out got whoop.

Yes, we did do some good things, but we offset our good things with slop.

Our defense surprised me with their leaving the trap door unlocked for those big runs.

Our offense surprised me that we had such a time trying to get a pass thrown.

In all honesty, Clemson appeared to me to come out on the field for the sole purpose, to give us a serious butt whipping. We appeard to come out onto the field to play a game, for funzies.

Same thing happened in reversed at Virginia Tech, except this time we made ourselves the victim.

UGA will slaughter us if we don't do any better than last night.

Oh well, we better get our crap together from here on out or we'll be lucky to get in any kind of a bowl.

Could it POSSIBLY be that we got beaten by a better team?

Nahhhh, of course not. But, could it? Just maybe?

Facts of the matter are:

1. Clemson is a stout team
2. Our O-line is not very strong
3. Our running backs are not very strong. I flipped back and forth bewteen our game and the Oklahoma game and Tashard Choice still wouldn't be starting for Oklahoma even with Peterson hurt.
4. At least two of our DB's couldn't tackle or chase down my grandmother. They must have gone to the Deion Sanders School of Tackling.
5. Our QB continues to confound the known world. Not getting the ball to Calvin Johson is IN - EX- CUSABLE!!!!
6. Our ST's stink. Even one of the announcers danced around the subject by wondering why a back-up kicker was on our punt block team. Plus a KO returner takes two steps with the KO and falls down!!!
7. Our MVP last night was out punter!!!

Thanks Chan! One step forward - two steps back!!

You don't know too much about our team, do you? He's out there because he's a great athlete and performs well on special teams even outside of kicking.

Thanks Chan! One step forward - two steps back!

:laugher: The idiots are coming hard this week folks, watch yourselves.

A second team kicker regardless of his skills, shouldn't have to be on a punt block team.

Idiots, about GT, this team, and about football in general? You don't want to go there, young fella' !! But you're right, the idiots are showing up.

Well all I can say is Clempson is big! and came to play. So hats off to Clempson this time!

Our defense I feel actually hung in pretty good for three quarters, but break away runs deflated them. and lack of offense on our part hurt our defense.

I don't know what Reggie's problem was, but he just pretty much lost it. Pass rush put on him was good, but not so good he should fall apart. Besides the rush, he did not have a good game.

Play calling was not up to par in my book. Risking your best wide receiver with a couple of options I question. I don't feel things get pointed out to Reggie during the game such as CJ being open quite a few times and not getting him the ball in passing situations. I thought Bennet should have been brought in sooner and not to just attempt running plays.

I thought special teams play fairly well.

Must regroup quick for Miami.

Fact of the matter is, you're never as good as you think that you are.

Fact of the matter is, you're never as bad as you appear sometimes.

Fact of the matter is, if you don't give your playmaker a chance to make plays, it's liable to be a long day.

Fact of the matter is, a defense can only keep you in the game for so long.

Fact of the matter is, if you can not tackle, then big plays will result.

Fact of the matter is, if the opposition forces you to become 1 dimensional, you are alot easier to defend.

IIRC, we threw the ball downfield 4 times (once in the first half and 3 in the 2nd) It worked twice (CJ pass interference, JJ TD) and had the potential to work the other time to JJ before his TD reception and the pass thrown behind CJ.

We can all come up with plenty of excuses for why things went as badly as they did on in front of a nationally televised audience, but if we come out and look like that again, there needs to be some serious offensive evaluation taking place in our program....coaching and personnel. No excuses for this performance after having an extra week to prepare.

And yet we are still in 1st place in Coastal division.

6. I'm no expert, but I would guess the backup kicker is on the punt block team because he blocks punts.
