There is no need to rehash CJ's stellar career at GT or his stunning performance at the Indy Combine. His height, weight, speed, agility, and equally impressive character attest that he is a uniquely remarkable that will become a transformational player for the NFL--being the best of the best! Few players ever achieve this status and I am certain the NFL GM's and coaches realize this. I just hope one owner, ie., Arthur Blank, will do whatever it takes to draft CJ and his talents.

(As a footnote, I cannot understand why the GT coaching staff did not design their offense around CJ, especially during his senior year. There were 2 consecutive games where he combined for 1 reception.--??? Oh well, I am glad he is preserved for the pros--and hopefully Falcons.)

You must not have paid attention to those games. Reggie Ball just does suck, that badly.

Don't believe Falcons will be interested in trading up to draft CJ. He would not fit into their new system anyway. He will probably got to Tampa Bay.

The proper tense is sucked.

Because of CJ and the only 4 year starter at qb, maybe the Dean Smith and Michael Jordan joke can finally be updated.

I would not wish the Falcons organization on anyone I cared about. I particularly would not want Calvin to have to deal with a moron like Michael Vick at QB....talk about polar opposites!!

Calvin could because a legendary receiver that sets some NFL records and wins a Super Bowl should he stay healthy....so lets hope he hooks up with a 10-year pro-style QB and offense.

The Falcons should try to trade Michael Vick to the Raiders and give up their #1 pick and #3 pick and get the Raiders #1. Keep Schaub and build a program around him and CJ.

Agreed....but no sane person would take Michael's insidious contract.

I was thinking the same thing!

They can't, financially, because of the salary cap hit. They'd be playing with like 75% of everyone else's sallary for a year. Can't do that.

Don't everyone jump off the Vick bandwagon just yet. When Dan Reeves was here, and the first year of Mora(perhaps spillover from him?), we all loved him. Don't write him off just yet...I know his character isn't great, but it's certainly not so bad that a deep playoff run couldn't offset it.

I know it's not going to happen in light of recent developments, but what about trading Schaubb and one of our younger receivers to Oakland for the pick? Oakland's likely going to take a QB anyway, and everyone around the NFL seems to love Schaubb.

A #1 pick is worth much more than Schaub and one of our younger receivers. Any WR on the Falcons now is just about worthless and Oakland isn't in need of more WRs. Even if you include Atlanta's #10 pick with that package, I still don't think it makes up for the huge drop in value from #1 to #10.

If there's any chance for this dream sequence coming true, it's with Cleveland at #3 after Oakland and Detroit pick somebody else. Vick's also can't be traded because of salary cap issues.

I agree with you about Cleveland but the problem there is we would have to give up a running back to get him probably Dunn. And say what you will about Dunn size etc. but he may be the biggest class act in the NFL and the Falcons(the VThug of the NFL) need that.I think Tampa is the team to deal with if we have any shot of making a deal. They need a QB and defense.
