anybody going?

I haven't been since 2010 but have a 2 year old and want to get him started with this sick relationship I have with GT football.

Has anyone been over the past couple of years that can recommend this as kid-friendly?

Thinking I can get some good pics on the field at the least.

Last year was a pretty big mob. I guess that winning 11 games will do that for you. First time for me. Couple of pics of what it looked like and the schedule here.

Not sure a 2 year old would appreciate the heat and waiting around. There were lots of young kids there running around on the field, just maybe a little older.

It was mostly a way to get autographs and spend a minute or two talking to the players and getting a pic with them (anyone other than JT - that was an assembly line).

The line for the QB's was over an hour long by the midway point of the time 1.5 hours allotted - many may have gone home disappointed. Most other lines were < 20 minutes.

CTR was standing in the middle of the field just talking to people. IIRC Joe Ham was there walking around too. There was probably other coaches and GT people there, but I was in the QB line for most of my time there. CPJ was in a tent and had a line - I am sure that all the folf from GT Sportstalk were there telling him what a great job he does. Got a closeup view of the OB, 1990 and state championship trophies.

If you have a Season Ticket you can get in early and the lines were much shorter. I got in with the season ticket pass, got a few pictures signed by CPJ, DJ White, Butker, and JT. That took 100% of the time allotted and I spent most of the time in the QB line and nearly missed the cutoff that was announced. They may have run long as there were 100's still in line when I left.

Didn't do anything before (Wreckfest) as I was in line to get in. Bring water. It will be hot or raining. (Don't know what the rain plan is - probably cancel it).

3-9 may make it a little less crowded. I know in 2014 there was a guy who was able to get all the players to sign a ball. No way he could have done that in 2015.

That's pretty much how I remember the Nesbit line in 2010.

Thank you.

That may be the most informative post I have ever read in response to an actual question on this site.

I am always informative.

Uniforms are the biggest storyline of the day. What Russell tripe will we trot out in?

I took my son out there today, he's 2 and a half. Been taking him to games since he was 6 months old; he's been to Charlotte, ND, and he's going to Ireland (taking my 4 month old daughter as well, that ought to be fun!)

I will say that having my dad there was a major help in holding places in line. So next year if you can have someone give you a hand, the kids seem to enjoy it.

öööö you

Fan Day did seem a little weak this year. Probably a combination of 3-9 and the Olympics being on; but it was still a good time for those who were there. It was a good crowd; but I've seen larger crowds. I went in with the late group, still got everyone's signature except QB's and CPJ, and actually left about 15 minutes early. It was hot; but not as hot as some years. GTAA didn't put forth the effort they have in the past; very little sidewalk activity, I think the bookstore was the only vendor and they didn't have much merchandise either. They did charge $4 for bottled water; so that was special. <insert big cry here> Somebody was giving a away free rally towels (or rally wash cloths) which are dark blue?? (I would have chosen either White or Mustard). It was disappointing not having the Jumbo Tron operational since they usually show highlights and such on it during the event. I think the event itself was a little later in the day this year; which I think is a plus. Plenty of posters, which is similar to last year's except with JT5. I didn't find any pocket schedules. The team was all in good spirit and everyone looks excited about going to Ireland.

Despite the negative tone of my post, this is a fun event each year and worth your time. The players are always great and it is nice getting a moment to talk to them.

That's because @ClydeBrick is from The Swarm who actually know how to answer a question or comment informatively which is quite the opposite of the norm here on ST where the response is usually a bunch of meaningless dribble or just douche bag comments[emoji38]

No, @ClydeBrick belongs to us now, and we aren't giving him back.
