I am just curious, how many of you consider yourselves a fan of the game or a student of the game or both? I consider a fan as one who watches where the ball goes on every play. One who yells from the stands "run the sweep" but could not draw up the blocking scheme to actually make the play sucessful. He or SHE is usually more emotionally into the game (which we really need).
I consider one a student of the game (for example) if he or SHE can read defenses. One who knows if the secondary is in a Cover 3, man under, etc. Not that I like one type more than the other, its just that techsamillion got me thinking and I thought that it would be fun to ask!!

A fan with only enough knowledge of today's schemes to be held back a grade or two. Its more fun (gutwrenching)being a fan.

im a fan until i get a bit tipsy. then i am the all knowing football guru of the south!

er, i played enough back in the day so that i still have a bit of foozball knowledge. im king of ps2 ncaa 2003 in my group of buddies. still trying to master the passing in 2004. but my drops and picks might be related to the team i play with.

Student. Also currently coaching. I'll go to the game for enjoyment, then come home to rewind the tape (if game was televised) and watch it sober.

After that, if questions still remain, then watch it with the REWIND/SLO-MO to break down the trouble spots just as I've been required to do with my own teams in the past.

Words of Wisdom as to re-watching the game on tape:

THE EYE IN THE SKY, IT NEVER TELLS A LIE!

Why do I just sit there watching your avatar waiting for "something" to happen.
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I apologize for that. My wife and I received a new digital camera that makes JPG's and we went outside last week to try it out. I just wanted to see if I could make an AVATAR out of it!

I teach/coach in the Henry County School System in McDonough, GA. My school is better known for baseball than for football, but the county is continuously growing and lets just say more and more athletes are starting to show up! The program is getting very competitive despite the 0-10 record of a year ago. We're AAA sized (due to a new school taking half of our enrollment) and playing in the region with Northside WR, Westside Macon, and Mt. Zion.

My complements to your wife; you are indeed a lucky man.

Fan trying to better learn the student angle.

Hey guys, did you not notice the BS meter animation? Unless his wife really has appeared on TLC and he has web space on a UK server.
