In the Mercedes Benz stadium. Tech plays there so maybe this fits. I think turf just looks awful no matter what. Maybe we should feel better about ours. Still like grass.

Louisville’s turf looked better than ours (in person), IMHO. I also think they probably repaint it more than once a season, since they had that special logo at midfield this week. I know we’re poor, but we ruined a major point of pride for no real benefit. I hope we’re saving a lot of money on lawn care…

Bobby Dodd sits in the middle plenty of sunshine and rain. It should be easy to grow good grass. Lawn maintenance for a field that size is a rounding error in an AD budget. Shame on whoever made the decision to install that poor looking artificial turf.

Humble brag

We will probably never be told, but I’d be willing to wager that “environmentalism” was also in that equation.

Any more and I’ll get banned.
Only if our Shaw alums convinced us it is a selling point. We made a big deal, when we had natural turf, about our drainage system and how we pulled from a creek and treated and reused the water and blah....blah....blah.....if artificial is so wonderful, why is the baseball field still natural turf?

It is essentially a reminder of Stansbury/Collins that will live with us until we rip it up and correct the error.

The creek could be the storm sewer pipes under the stadium

I don’t think this was the case. When the transition was made I knew the lead guy for Shaw on the project. He said GT thought they’d be able to host more concerts like The Rolling Stones and soccer matches and it would be cheaper long term.
How’s that working out.

Being there is a practically new, more modern, venue to host concerts like the stones, it is a pretty crappy reason to install artificial.

Even GAST got the Foo Fighters over BDS.

o rly

Is the old astroturf a reminder of 1990 or 1994? Do blue jerseys remind you of a national championship or the worst season in the last 50 years?

What the hell are you talking about? You're comparing apples to Kias

Artificial turf in the South outdoors at a P4 school is dumbass.
