Sickeningly enough I was selected to speak at a conference in damn San Diego on the day of the first game and won't be able to get back before kickoff since apparently nothing goes from SD to ATL between noon and 10pm.

Anyways, trying to figure out a way to be able to watch the game, and I don't mind paying a bit for it. Does ESPN 360, or whatever they call it, broadcast online, is everything broadcast, is the quality worth it at all or would I do better with streaming Wes' calls and having up gametracker on the laptop?

How about ACCSelect or whatever that was?

Thanks for any advice.

ESPN360 is free and great, and it is broadcasting our opener, but you can only access it through certain internet providers, and a hotel is not likely to have it. ACC Select broadcasts games that are not on TV, and this one isn't, but if ESPN360 is broadcasting it then that means ABC has the rights to it and I don't think ACC Select will be able to show it. If you do manage to get it through either of those, though, it's definitely worth it compared to listening on the radio.

so pretty much depends on who the ISP for San Diego airport is whether I have video or not. I guess I can begrudgingly deal with that.

If any of you EE's happen to be out at the PCFS forum lets get a beer and watch/listen to the game so everyone in the airport doesn't think I'm nuts when I start yelling or swearing :)

Can someone sticky this thread so that folks are aware of the coverage closer to gameday?

There's always one of those "Slingbox" contraptions.

What I usually do is call ahead to sports bars and find one that'll have it. But that might not work in the case where it's only carried by 360.

Be prepared to be disappointed. Tried to google san diego wifi to find out if service provider was on ESPN360 network, and came across this article.

Wow. Thats just bad design. Oh well.

Slingbox not an option because I don't have ESPN360 at home. I guess its streaming the radio and gametracker, and if I get lucky a bar in the airport will have the channel and if I drink enough beer they'll put it on for me.

when i lived in SD, almost all the games were on ESPN Gameplan. you could buy by the game. also, call around some of the sports bars and you might find the game on that day.

given my experience, you should be able to get it somewhere

Are 360 games on Gameplan?

If so, bars should have it.

Look up what bars are in the area of where you'll be speaking and ask them if they have or will have GamePlan. Closer to the game, make sure/ask if they will be/can show the game.

I feel for you man. I wish I could stream the game to you. I'll text you from BDS if I have to/if you want.

Is there a way that an AT&T or Verizon cell phone customer can get an internet connection for one night? I'll be in pretty much the same situation as Peck and I'm trying to find anyway possible to watch the game.

You mean on your phone? What phone do you have?

The LG VX9900 enV... I've heard that you can get a Verizon login ID or something for a short period of time that will allow you to access internet which in turn allows access to ESPN360 which in turn allows for YELLOW JACKET FOOTBALL!!!!

Can you not get a connecting flight - like SD to DAL to ATL?

Nothing worked out that would get me to Atlanta in time for the game (after accounting for MARTA to Tech, throwing bags at fraternity, etc) so I opted for a later flight where I can at least watch/listen to the game.

Absolutely. The worst that can happen is you find a place that will have an internet connection (Your hotel, I guess) and listen to Wes.

Just get the 360 broadcast. It's probably decent quality. At least 640x480 I am guessing so it's probably just as good as watching on a SD TV.

If this was a Gailey game, you could just use gametracker, but you're going to want to see this offense for yourself.

I think the real issue here is that Ramblin Peck has his priorities all backwards! Would Paul Johnson let speaking at a conference in San Diego keep him from the game? I dont think so!

What would Brian Boitano do?
