First half was solid but

Satisfaction with the first half and amnesia regarding the second half is also how I am continuing to live.

UGA recruiting >>>>>>>>>> GT recruiting. I mean, even with every break in the possible world the disparity in talent made a win today impossible. All UGA had to do was stop turning the ball over and the gap would assert itself. Now there are lots of decent teams who have a talent gap with UGA's elite talent level. It's just our gap vs them is greater than everyone else's. The announcers said they outweigh our D by 25 lbs per man on average. All of the PJ fans are blaming Collins but don't kid yourself, the gap had widened so far under PJ's watch that even his triple option couldnt even the score the past couple years.

The pooch kickoff to open the second half set the tone, plus we spent what seemed like the entire 3rd quarter with our backs to our own end zone.

It actually seemed like the wind was taken out of our sails when King missed the fg. Until that, it seemed we were in the ring and punching. We didn’t do shit after that.

And while the pooch kick seemed weird, remember that our scholarship kicker cannot consistently kick to inside the 5. So when you can’t kick deep by player limitation, you get creative. And it didn’t work.

It was a bit surreal to be down only 10 at the half. GT fans were cheering the team while UGA fans around my section were quiet. I didn’t expect for that to continue, but it just seemed to derail in a hurry once the second half started. PHIII had a rather pedestrian day punting, for him, which didn’t help while we were pinned down inside our own 20.

We’ve recovered that same pooch kick against UGA before. I think we assumed we’d cover it a little better...but we did not. Hindsight is 20/20.
