- Freshman B-back Dedrick Mills was one of the scrimmage's top individual performers. A 34-yard touchdown run to cap the first series of the day highlighted the true freshman's impressive showing.
- Third-year sophomore A-back Clinton Lynch also turned in a strong performance, both as a runner and a receiver. He also found paydirt on a long run with a 25-yard touchdown gallop on the fourth series of the day.
- The offense put together a 17-play, 75-yard scoring drive midway through the scrimmage. The Yellow Jackets converted two third downs and two fourth downs during the lengthy series. A 24-yard reception by Mills on third-and-nine proved to be one of the biggest plays of the touchdown drive.
- Defensively, linemen Francis Kallon and Brentavious Glanton both forced fumbles that were recovered for turnovers.
- Junior defensive back Step Durham had one of the defense's top individual showings with a pair of sacks.
- Defensive back Ajani Kerr made two big plays late in the scrimmage - a diving interception and, just three plays later, a pass breakup that ended another series.
Quote of the Day:
"Mills is a good player. He's going to play a lot ... He's hard to tackle, he's a good player and he understands football."
- Head coach Paul Johnson on true freshman B-back Dedrick Mills.
