First Victory Over Our New Traditional Rival

The way the Tobacco Road Zebras tried to screw us this game has given me the motivation I need to eternally hate Wake Forest the way I hate Virginia Poly.

Stinking rich kids can't win unless they pay off the refs.

Wake turned the ball over 5 times last night. Both fumbles were effort plays by the D. The INTs were nice plays as well. That is the difference in the game, IMPO.
We created those turnovers for sure. But otherwise look at their stats on O.

I have. They look pretty good to me. 29 1st downs/ 386 total yards/ 162 passing/ 224 rushing/ 5 TO/ 31:59 TOP

Still 386 TY is 100-175 yards less than Louisville or Ole Miss. Here's how the D has played out in Total Yards so far:
  • Louisville - 474 Tot Yards/ 247 Passing/ 227 Rushing
  • SCSU - 291 Tot Yards/ 95 Passing/ 196 Rushing
  • Ole Miss - 550 Tot Yards/ 251 Passing/ 299 Rushing
  • WFU - 386 Tot Yards/ 162 Passing. 224 Rushing
Wake has that slow mesh grind it out O that just controls the ball and keeps it out of your hands. Say what you want about CBF... we struck quick and then held the ball and that plan forced Wake out of their game and into a quick strike approach, which they struggled to execute, hence max pressure and 3 INT. It wasn't pretty but it was effective, if that's what it was.
